I really hope that the Buzz talk is just your typical misinformation put out there during coaching searches for various reasons.
If Long fired Pel to bring THAT in-his idea of a home run hire to save his arse is WAY different than mine. We could do worse, I'm sure. <<BCG. We can't take anymore Pel type hires. It's a crap shoot no matter who you bring in, but Buzz? He might play in the Big East against better teams, but he's only regressed since being there.

I will say that if he brings in Buzz or someone similar and it's 4 more years of the same shite-yes, he should be fired.

No he won't. Long has a secure job at this point. As long as he brings in a coach that can win, everyone will be happy.
The athletic department is about to get two very large donations, all because of Long.
Long has done a great job since he has been here. He has done a lot to move our entire athletic program forward since he has arrived. It is no longer run by the "good ole boy network" and is actually run like a business now. Let's face it, at the end of the day our program is just a business.

Yes he did hire Petrino. Long is the reason Petrino left the Falcons early.
They had been in contact well before Petrino was hired. At that time, Petrino did not want to leave the Falcons before the season was up. Long then moved on.
Petrino reach back out to Long after he decided he did not care what damage he did to the Falcons and Arthur Blank. Petrino was afraid he was going to be fired by Blank and wanted to go ahead and move on.
Anyone that tells you Petrino fell in Long's lap is either lying, or mis-informed.

The Same Buzz Peterson who was FIRED at Tennessee. He was 13-17 this year at UNC Wilmington
But then again he DID coach at Tulsa, the cradle of coaches

I agree that he'll keep his job as long as he doesn't make a JP hire.
I'm not in the camp that believes that CBP fell into Long's lap, just didn't feel like explaining the whole process to a State fan.

i've always read split things about Long. One side, that we are bringing in a ton of money and he is "modernizing" things to great advantage. But on the other side I've heard he's pissed off old boosters and less money is coming into the foundation.
I really don't know what to believe.
