Well if he can have some moderate success there he will move onto something bigger as a head coach instead of being an assistant. most coaches have egos and once they have control they don't want to give it back

Oh I'm sure you're right and he would never make the move, but I'd love to see it.

it would be awesome to have that group of guys together again, it would without a doubt bring some espn attention back to the program (which is needed), we need to basically run a giant pr campaign for basketball because of how long it has been since we've had success. That is the true answer to winning.

As much as it hurts to say it, you're right. Being on ESPN means national exposure, which means recruit exposure.
It's ridiculous how much it helps in recruiting.
Too bad the kids don't understand that the NFL doesn't give a flippin' shite.
Now the NBA on the other hand..........

That's why I think the court needs to be named after Nolan and dedication done. Sure it was an awful divorce, but damn its been 9 years, it's time to acknowledge his accomplishments at Arkansas. THAT would bring in the publicity.

Yea kids want to go where they feel they'll get a lot of attention. It's what Calipari offers and what a lot of big name coaches and schools offer....we need to get back to offering that. The best way is to win but the easiest way is a gimick and if that involves getting our national championship team back together as a coaching staff and they can win big i'm all for it.

I'm not opposed to it and i see where it would give us publicity but Broyles and some other boosters would freak out....Money for facilities and coaches is more important overall than naming the court.

nolan richardson ain't getting his name on the court.
sorry not happening to a guy that was fired and sued the university.
i'm all for putting a statue of him out front, but he will never have his name on the court. jmo.

I don't think so, I think if those folks had any power whatsover Mike wouldn't have been hired this time. Seriously you KNOW that Broyles were pulling strings still the man wouldn't even have been considered.

I think there was some compromising going on. It's one thing to bring back in some tradition that we tried so hard to get away from but it is an entire other thing to directly bring Nolan into the situation and put his name on the court.

Guess we just have to see what those who have a say decide. I mean I am one that think Nolan had to be fired when he was, and that he deserved what happened; but let's let bygones be bygones.

The only assistant I hope we keep is Rob so Mike has someone to lean on for year one at least and hell mike will actually listen to Rob. After that I hope Rob gets a head coaching gig somewhere and Corliss has improved his record.

i've got the same opinion. I'm over it but apparently some boosters still aren't

I've kinda been wondering if rob would be around. Has anyone heard any word on him?

well, the rumor I heard is that he is the only assistant who was invited to return, so who knows.

Article this morning doesn't really say one way or another but hints about possibility Evans could stay on staff. He's the only one from Pel's staff still working here so far.

It depends on which coaches are on the bench, and which are in administration.
If Thurman stays in his currant capacity, then there would be room. If Evans stays and Thurman is now a "real coach" then the bench is set with Day/Cleveland.
Basically One head coach, Three assistants, as many administration positions you want to create.

Nobody is getting a named court. Richardson dared JFB to fire him and he did. People seem to think Nolan was so instrumental in building the program, they're wrong. Richardson doesn't sniff Fayetteville if Broyles doesn't have the nuts to hire him and if Eddie doesn't make Arkansas a household name in CBB. Bitch all you want about the Great White Father, but he hired Holtz, Hatcield, Ed, Richardson, Norm, DVH, Nutt, Ford all which were good hires if not great hires.

Almost pulled the trigger to go to the press conference tomorrow... found a room and everything. But I couldn't find a place for my dogs.
