I agree with that being overrated, but Sean Payton was more than a water boy...

He was pretty good college QB and was a scab QB for the Bears during the last work stoppage.

Isn't he already the head coach at Central Arkansas??? It would seem it would take a good bit of money for him to leave a D1 head gig.

at the pro level he was a water boy

and that is not to put down Payton. It is to point out that being a pro is not related to being a good coach. In fact it seems more like the best coaches were not elite athletes than the other way around

Man I wish I could be there. I just used a free plane ticket to go back last month for no particular reason.

It's not about money, and TBH he is not a very good head coach, but could be a hell of a assistant coach and coach the big guys. I bet he would be a hell of a recruiter too. I think Corliss doesn't even make 100K at UCA anyway.

I hate to sound racist, because I'm not, but if Anderson brings in Corliss Williamson, Scotty Thurman, and another African American ast coach the Flagship should DOMINATE in recruiting.

Corliss, Todd Day, TJ Cleveland and Watkins.

I don't know if Day can coach worth a lick but he would for sure get us back in to Memphis.

Where is former Arkansas ast. coach Brad Dunn coaching at now? He could be the token white assistant coach.

I KID, I KID!

I grew up in a 75% black town, and I was the only white kid on the track team my junior year. What you said is not racist. It's not racist for any staff to be 100% black, white, or any ethnicity whatsoever. When you deny somebody opportunity because of ethnicity/gender then it's racism. The lack of diversity is not racist and affirmative action can go frick itself. None of the Fed board members are black, is that racist? No, just he same as if our staff was all black that wouldn't be racist. I focus 100% on what works, not what somebody thinks is idealistically right. You can debate ideals ad nauseam but what works actually has evidence to make a case. If our staff consists of Mike, Scotty, Corliss, and another black guy, I don't give a frick. Those guys know basketball and they know it very, very well. That works, that's not racist, and that is 100% perfect for me.
