After a national championship run they went 7-5.

Now you're predicting they go 9-3 after going 0-8 in the league last year. Just because they promoted their OC?

I think people underestimate the effect that Malzahn will have. Most of these guys were picked for his system, and then they tried plugging them into a pro style last year. The other factor is Ellis Johnson. I can tell you right now that they will also be much improved on defense. The talent has been there, and with good coaching they will win 9 games.

If we can get to six wins that would be cool.

I just want to see improvement and for us to be competitive in every game. The wins will come with time.

Going on record right now that Auburn will suprise many. 9-3

Malzahn should be lock for coach of the year if Auburn goes 9-3.

It's going to be an interesting year for Auburn. Last year was a clusterfrick and the classic trying to force a square peg in a round hole. Malzahn will do better than that.

So, he was your offensive coordinator, and you promoted him. That's what I said.

A promotion and a hire are two seperate things.

We hired the Arky St HC to be our new HC.

We also fired our OC and hired the Ary St OC.

You're having a hard time with future, past and present.

First to the future schedule you reply with a past result

Now for a current coach you refer to a promotion of a past OC who had a HC gig in the more recent past (promoted outside the organization?)

You hate time lines don't you?

Did we also hire alabama's DC?

That is my prediction. 7 or 8 wins before the bowl game.

I think the biggest swing game is Ole Miss and I believe 3-1, coming off a bye, and at home will be enough to get the win.

Tenn in Neyland is the biggest toss-up game on the schedule.

No, you're having trouble acknowledging the reality of the situation. Malzahn was only gone for about 10 months. You promoted your OC.

There's no shame in promoting assistant coaches, guys. That's what happened with Bielema at Wisconsin and he was wildly successful there.

I know you're being intentionally dense, but I don't understand the endgame.

I've never argued that we didn't hire a former OC who was a head coach, but you seem really caught up on glossing over that.

This could boil down to difficulty distinguishing between hire and promote

No I get it, he was your OC, took a short hiatus, then you guys gave him the head coaching job. No shite.

Basically you promoted your OC. I know, I know, technically that's not what happened but it's the reality of the situation.

The reason I bring it up is because I keep seeing outlandish predictions for Auburn next year and all you guys did was "promote" an assistant coach. I'm just not seeing the drastic turnaround in year 1 with a hire like that.
