No my logic is that your D may put up better numbers then it did last year, but it still wont be as good as other SEC D's.
At some point the lag curve for defensive statistics will even out...

Yeah, LSU will lose only to Bama and Arkansas in conference play.
Tenn, AU, MIss St. and Fla aren't just going to roll over. It wouldn't surprise me to see Miles make some bad calls that cost them one of those games. A couple of those teams may just be able to out score LSU unless their O has improved.

LSU winning the west, let alone the SEC and MNC with Jefferson at QB, dreamers.

This is true, but CMR has to prove he can exploit the talent he has. CWM's kids probably won't have much of a problem playing hard, it'll be more of a new-system isssue.
Part of me thinks CMR has changed a little bit this offseason, but I don't make a habit out of assuming such changes because people have been begging him to do that for 3+ years.

You don't have to worry about DB's under Saban...Same holds true for Petrino and QB's (in college for the haters)...

I know we're down and people are taking a wait and see approach with us right now, but there's no reason at all why we can't win 10 games. There's a chance we could be favored in every game but 1 this year. We've definitely got the horses to do it, and I am REALLY excited about our defense. I think we're going to surprise a lot of people with how much we've improved there.

True. @MSU and @Tenner could be a loss in the waiting.
It is too early to say how Auburn and Florida will look after their losses in players/coaching staff this past off-season.

I said the same exact thing last year and UGA lost 7 games.
The whole SEC east is wait and see at this point, even USCe to some extent.
Really, I don't think anyone would be surprised if any of UF, UT, USCe, or UGA won the east.
But the safe money right now is on USCe if Garcia comes back.

I do worry about DB's under Saban who have no experience.

I think that Florida's losses aren't going to hurt too much, especially on the offensive side of the ball.
Ahmad black hurts on defense, and losing jenkins is terrible, so the secondary has some questions, but on offense, they were so bad last year it's hard to miss anyone.
Plus the talent in the secondary, and the experience back there, is still solid. Riggs, Watkins, Shaw, Evans, Brown, and Moses Jenkins have all had a solid amount of playing time.

Isn't that JUCO transfer going to be starter for LSU? An LSU fan here in Nashville said he had a great spring and will end up starting. If he is good enough, LSU will be tough to beat. I think LSU will win the West, but it is going to be a hard fought West Division, as I think Bama, Arky, AU, and MSU could all beat LSU. LSU and Bama will likely have the better Defenses, but bama will have a new inexperienced QB, as will Arky and AU. Wilson is fully capable of coming in as a starter and leading the Hogs to the West crown, b/c I think he is that good. MSU returns a lot of good players with experience at QB and won't be ignored by anybody. My Auburn Tigers will have a new QB, rebuilding OL and DL, but I think will be formidable. There will be more talented athletes on the field with the past 2 recruiting classes, but just inexperienced. Some really good skill players around Trotter at QB could be the solid balance needed for the passing game.

For me, it is more along the lines of if the personnel will match what the OC and DC want to do or if the OC and DC will adapt to the skills of the talent available to them.

I think last year showed the whole "square peg, round hole" scenario at QB.

Well, yeah. Not that he hasn't before, but there's a lot of variables (personal motivation, players' character, etc.) at play where something has changed in the past 5 years.
Coaches' careers have a life cycle. I'm not going to go out on a limb to say where he is in his, but my point is that there are some obvious deficiencies in the program he's been running the past few years.
