quote:you're wrong - not only about this season's record, but long-term SEC record as well.
Why not tell me I am wrong and that Muschamp will have a better record at SC then Mullen will have at UF .
Dan is the 3rd best recruiter out of Richt, Willie T and himself. Talent won't be as abundant at UF as most want to believe.
Florida, with Dan, will recruit classes closer to Carolina than it will Georgia & Alabama. Florida's defense will not be a consistent top half of SEC defenses under Dan, either.
It will only take one good Merlins arse-chapped hissy-fit with gator fans to once again devide the legion of lizards. Your fan base will destroy Merlins much like it did Muschamp and McIlwain.

you never specified at South Carolina, but thanks for the definition
We will win 10 games this year. 10-3.

fricking unreal how hubristic some of you ugga bugga fans have become.
No matter the success Boom eventually brings us, and he will, Gamecock fans will never become the kind of asshat some of you have become in one short season.
I forgot how some of y'all were back in the early eighties ... but it just struck home. It's fricking pathetic.

He was literally one win away from a 10 win season

I think Mullen is a good fit at UF, it just will take a few years to get the players he wants and build a little depth. I think he will be a better game day coach than Muschamp was at UF and that could offset the talent issue early on.

It's indicative of their inbred insecurities, of which they have many. They make all of these UGA and Bama alters, Although I see none of those in here at the moment, or they just come straight-on-in as openly gay sheep humping sister banging taterheads.

I see two losses in Georgia and Clemson. And I think they go 1-1 against TAMU and @ Florida. 9-3 (6-2) regular season. Should be a good season at USC.
The east is weak enough behind Georgia that in given years (when the OOC rival is down and the cross-division opponents are easy) a team like USC or Florida could go a whole season with only one loss (Georgia) and get a NY6 berth for it, or backdoor their way into the CFP like Bama last year.

I don't disagree with you that Georgia is at the top of the East right now, because they are.
I do disagree that the East is "so down" that no team can beat Georgia.
The East is still as good as any other division in college football not named the SEC West.
Georgia played for the National Championship last year and SC beat the #3 team in the B1G which everyone touted as the best overall league last year. Florida is going to be much improved and Kentucky and Mizzou will be very competitive as long as Lock is there and perhaps even further ... they do have their pride and expectations. Tennessee is going to be improved but they have a ways to go and Vandy is gonna Vandy.
The truth is The East has several members who focus more on basketball and baseball and that's the way it is always going to be between the divisions.
We do ourselves a disservice, as a conference, always prefacing The East as "down" or a "shite show." The East has brought far more national championships to the conference, for overall bragging rights, in basketball and baseball in recent years than the West.
Vandy, Kentucky and Mizzou will likely never win a SEC Championship in football. But Kentucky and Mizzou will compete.
In the West Bama, Auburn and LSU are always going to endeavor to win Championships in football. Arkansas and A&M are capable although Arkansas has to turn their recruiting fortunes around soon or they'll move into the baseball/basketball side of things for that division. And it'll be very very tough for Ole Miss and Miss State to win a SEC Championship in football no matter what given they play in the West and are going to have to jump Bama, Auburn, LSU and A&M.
The East is not a shite show, it's not down per se, it's just that Florida is rebuilding and Tennessee is in a bad place right now and has been for awhile, and those two have traditionally been the stalwarts of the division.
Georgia moved up and replaced them and I truly believe SC will be making a move this year plus Florida will be back soon enough. Get Tennessee back on track and we should compare very favorably to The West in the not too distant future.

Some of you Georgia fans simply have no clue ... some of you really are ignorant fricks when it comes to being reasonable.
Right now SC has better facilities than Georgia. We do not have the built-in recruiting advantages that UGA does, but Boom is reaching into other states for prospects and his staff and he will coach-them-up.
Thank gosh not all UGA fans are asshats.

I think they're not as good as their record was last year
Yeah, they had 5 close wins(7 pts or less) and only 1 close loss which equals a net of +4. The last three years when this happens a team improved their record 25.2% of the time the next year.
Another factor is turnovers. Some turnovers are caused but many are luck. South Carolina was +11 in turnovers last year. Since 1991, only 23% of teams improved their record the next year after having a +11 or greater turnover margin. The percentages say SC should be 8-4 or worse, and I see 7-5.
