No troll, but why is SC so high on everyone's list?

It's similar to UT two years ago. A young offensive nucleus playing since they were freshman are now juniors in their third year of Muschamp's system.

A young defense that, while it's replacing some solid players, has played above its talent level since T-Rob took over

And our return game should be scary with Deebo back another year

With new coaches at UF, UT, Mizzou getting a new O-Coordinator, and our schedule, this is probably our best shot at competing for the East in several years

We return a healthy group of third and fourth year offensive players, including a handful of potential stars on that side of the ball in Bentley, Deebo, Edwards, et al.

Our defense is questionable but Boom and T-Rob seem to field good defenses each season.

Special Teams should be above average.

Moving BMac to OC and bringing in the QB Whisperer Dan Werner should prove beneficial.

Most importantly, our schedule appears to be challenging but manageable with Georgia coming into the Cock Pit in Week 2. UF and UT both having new coaches. Stuff like that.

Plus we added some good new talent in the off-season that enrolled early and participated in Spring Drills (13 early enrollees) and some of them will contribute in a positive fashion.

No other program in the East (other than UGA) can reasonably, at least not yet, formulate a favorable list for the upcoming season along those lines.

Other things include The Wolf being here for his second season and bringing a much improved OLine to the dance.

A deep group of RBs who have all been playing since they were true freshmen ... none of them flashy but all of them work horses and solid.

Maybe one of the finer overall stables of WRs in the conference.

A stable coaching staff, save the QB coach (Werner) and OLine coach (Wolf), who have been together three years.

A favorable home schedule (UGA, Mizzou, A&M, UT) and a doable away schedule (Vandy, KY, Ole Miss, UF) that would appear at least to be tilted somewhat in our favor.

A highly motivated fan base that is expecting big things and will be there en force to provide emotional support. Billy Brice should be swayin' if we are playin'. And it's a tough place to play when the stars align.

Those are just some of the reasons off the top of my head. I'm sure I missed a few.

Yep ... and we could see Jam Williams back there returning punts to compliment Deebo's KORs. Jam looks a lot like Ace Sanders in some ways ... although that might be too much to ask. Jam definitely does have some of the natural athletic abilities and vision we saw in Ace and LSU enjoyed with the Honey Badger.

What I am most excited about with our Special Teams though is all the depth ... the young athletic guys we can throw out there on the coverage and return teams thanks to solid recruiting and early enrollees. They are going to help us field some seriously solid Special Teams units IMHO.

Also, it would appear our FG kickers will be better than simply serviceable this year. Their legs have never been questioned ... just accuracy beyond 40 yards out. Sheesh ... they can all put the ball in the upper level ... they just have to straighten'em out a little. We'll see some big FGs made this year IMHO.

And Joe Charlton will contend for All-SEC Punter honors this season. He's our next NFL worthy punter.

I think SC could be the 4th best team in the conference this year. If Florida finds a solid grad-transfer QB, they could be a wild card this year too.

How should I rank em if Georgia beats Florida. Florida beats S. Carolina. S. Carolina beats Georgia and each one loses to a SEC West team.

Me for one, there is not a team on the schedule that we can't beat. We are the Florida Fricking Gators, Beetches! The dark days are over, the ex loser dog grad and the shark humper are gone. Glory days are here again. Dan's the Man to lead us back to the Urban Meyer, Steve Spurrier days.
