The OC is somewhat proven. At least more so than the QB. But I want argue much on this point.

I agree. I don't really disagree much with your overall assessment (just some of the particulars). The OP was just to get some entertaining convo going. 8 or 9 wins would be a solid year. It could be better or worse depending on the QB play.

I don't think 7 to 8 regular season wins is doom playing in the SEC West and taking Clemson on the schedule. I really didn't mean it that way. Its just a really hard schedule.

Yea i edited to try to make it look like i wasn't saying your predictions but more the "no qb, too young, new coaches, you'll be lucky to win 5" types.

Its been said over in and over, if i'm being honest (with a built in penchant for skewing in favor of auburn) i see 8-9 wins with a better chance of it being 10 than 6

We're not that far off. If I had to bet money I'd struggle between 7 and 8 games. The schedule is just rough.

I think 9 regular season wins would be an incredible coaching job. That would mean winning 2 of 5 versus Bama, LSU, Georgia, Clemson, and Arkansas. Those are all top 15 teams going into the season, including 3 of the top 8. The Ags, Vandy, and Miss State are all top 50 (based on Athlon's rankings).

Regardless we're all 0-0 right now.

Let me guess...you're on summer break and you're 13?

Also, FTR: Cam was starting bc the only other option was K. Burns.

Much, much better chance of it being 7 than 10. I think that if you win more than 9, Auburn will be scary indeed in 2013 and 2014. I just don't see you guys at the level of LSU and Bama, or even Georgia, yet.

We will win 9 or 10 this year - I predict 10. We'll likely lose to LSU but will surprise Bama and beat em in TTown (by 7 to 10 points).

6-6 (3-5 in conference) IMO and I think 6-6 represents the worst case. Honestly wouldn't be surprised if one or both of Clemson and MSU go the Tigers way and they end up 7-5 or 8-4 prior to a bowl game.

Damn. That would be a depressing start to the season. I feel like an OM fan just reading that.

This conversation comes up on the rant every single year and Auburn is always much better than what any other fan base says.

Auburn was going 5-7 last season and went 8-5.

It's also a better chance of 14 than 2, but neither of those is likely to happen. 7-9 likely, with above 8 being a really strong year and below 8 being a disappointment.

yeah that would suck. And no flame intended by the 6-6.

Just not really sure what to expect with the Auburn offense. Bound to be better than last year and Clemson's D really sucks so I actually won't be surprised to see Auburn win that one.

I'm also giving the benefit of the doubt to MSU and thinking that they'll have a pretty good team this year but then again you never really know which team Mullen will show up with on a week to week basis.

I can see 1-4 like I predicted over that stretch but 3-2 is also totally feasible. So basically Auburn is pretty hard to predict IMO until we get a first look at them in a test against Clemson.
