For me it’s the 1st undefeated, un tied BCS “real” national championship. The standard against all national championships should be judged.

Only can think of one. The Saturday in 1998 he was given a miracle and gave his Hanes a giant skid mark. Drawing a blank otherwise.

Losing to LSU in 01 when they though they were a shoe in to go to the Rose bowl and play for a NC

That is one of my favorite memories.

We were in Asheville, NC for Christmas 2001 staying at the Grove Park Inn. I was wearing an LSU jacket while sitting in a rocking chair in front of the massive fire places there, when an elderly (Yea, I know - ironic me calling someone else elderly!) Tennessee fan wearing an orange jacket sat next to me. Striking up a conversation he said he was disappointed LSU had cost his beloved Vols a NC - I reminded him that we were only returning the favor from 1959. We got along well after that conversation.

My favorite was watching him cry like a fat bitch at the press conference announcing his firing.

Is there any individual more hated by Alabama fans than Phil?

And he probably deserves it all.

The attorney who served Fulmer with the subpoena outside the hotel at Media Days was a law school classmate of mine, Brandon Blankenship.

How he was able to introduce a new word to the Bama vocabulary and how the word "karma" has been used incessantly by every clever Bama fan for 15 years.

As a player and coach at Tennessee, Phil was 16-15-1 against Bama:
2-1 as a player (1969 - 1971)
4-5 as OL coach (1980 - 1988)
0-4 as offensive coordinator (1989 - 1992)
10-5-1 as head coach (1993 - 2008)

Until the current streak, Tennessee was only a handful of games behind Alabama in the all-time series. That's why so many people 35-40 and older still view that game so much differently than everyone else does at this point.
