Ahhhhh - sorry Haters. The Camp wants him back and said he was great. Nice try. How sad you must all be.

Johnny Manziel cuts camp short
Chris Mortensen
ESPN | July 14, 2013
Heisman Trophy winner Johnny Manziel of Texas A&M did not finish his scheduled stay as a college coach/counselor at the 2013 Manning Passing Academy because he missed assigned meetings and practice sessions, apparently due to illness.

Some Internet reports have stated Manziel had been sent home by Archie Manning because of "partying" but camp officials were adamant those reports were inaccurate.

A camp spokesman released the following statement from the Manning Passing Academy, which was held at Nicholls State University in Thibodaux, La.

"Johnny Manziel did participate in some activities in the 2013 Manning Passing Academy as a college counselor/coach," the statement said. "After missing and being late for practice assignments, Johnny explained that he had been feeling ill. Consequently, we agreed that it was in everyone's best interest for him to go home a day early."

It was Manziel's first appearance as college coach/counselor at the passing academy after he had been a camper twice during his high school years. "I enjoyed meeting Johnny," said Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning "I can remember a 20-year-old Eli [Manning] missing a meeting and catching some flak. We always have counselors who leave early. Johnny was great with the campers for the time he was here. He had to leave early. I wish him the best and I want him to come back as a counselor next year."

Manziel could not be reached for comment. He apologized privately to camp officials for being unable to fulfill his commitment.

The Manning Passing Academy, in its 18th year, began Thursday evening and wrapped up Sunday morning. Manziel went home Saturday afternoon after missing the morning session.

Classic damage control. Good for the camp and for Manziel.

He's been punking Archie all year. First he broke his record, then after graciously accepting Archie's award, JFF blows off his camp.

shite's funny.

Nah, some report from a source you couldn't name without looking again is far more credible than Chris Mortenson and Peyton Manning.

JFF doesn't lose. Try again.

Dude just face it, JFF was out getting hammered drunk the night before, woke up with a hangover and missed the meetings. The spin machine is kicking up now trying to save face for manziel and the camp...we get it. We also get the fact your really upset over this whole debacle and that's understandable too. maybe you should logout for awhile

I just think its funny how the rant has decided the first report is 100% the truth and there is no way that the camps statement is what happened and its all about spin and saving face

Dude Peyton Manning says what he wants. He can be an arse. If he wanted to rip him he would. Peyton wouldn't either - if anything he would just say he didn't know. People in Houma don't spin. ESPN got it from South LA. They would rip him if they could.

Yall are embarrassed by this as a group I know - but shake it off bros - its JFF. Yall thought you had something and pounced. Nice try. But again....JFF. Broadway JFF.

JFF likes to party. I know that when I miss work because I am sick. It is usually because of a hangover. Just can't believe he would pull that in this setting.

No not really. They have a brand to protect and that brand is the QB camp. Of course they will spin it. They don't want parents of kids thinking they are sending them to a school of drunk counselors. Get a clue.
