Hoping A&M can play above our heads some this year and maybe challenge for the bubble while making the NIT and giving us something to build on going forward. I think we will play a lot of teams tough in Buzz’s first year.

Perhaps. I don't know what to think about Auburn next year.

We're still really deep, and have 5 very experienced seniors off a final four team

We're deep, talented, and experienced at big with Wiley, Purifoy and McLemore. Btw, not sure where you got the idea that Okoro will start at 4, he'll start at 3 and Purifoy at 4. Okoro is probably more likely to run a little 2 than 4

Guard play will obviously be a little down without Harper and Bryce, but McCormick showed in the postseason that he can really play and a affect a game in a big, positive way. Doughty has a ton of experience and is pretty good. We don't have experience behind those two, but the talent is definitely there.

Bruce Pearl gonna Bruce Pearl. Don't be surprised if we finish 3rd. And this is a rebuilding year too, the 2020 and 2021 classes are already looking elite.

We have 3 spots open, but will only fill 2. Marshall Graves who got Wayde Sims' scholarship last season will continue to have it through his senior year this year.

PG: J’Von McCormick
SG: Samir Doughty
SF: Jamal Johnson
F: Isaac Okoro
C: Austin Wiley

Jamal Johnson is our 10th man and if we can add a GT CG like they hope he won't get anything other than mop up minutes. Okoro will start at the 3 and Purifoy at the 4. Our season depends on Wiley's health imo. If he can make it through healthy we will challenge for the conference title if not we will likely be a bubble team that squeaks their way in the NCAA tournament.

We have one. Apparently 2020 C N’Faly Dante is visiting this week and there’s been talk of potential reclassification now that Blackshear is going with Florida. LSU, Kansas, and Oregon are all in on him too.

In his 4 seasons, he has 3 straight NCAA tournament appearances, with at least 1 win in each appearance and an Elite 8.

Hes second only to Calipari for wins in the NCAA tournament during his time at UF.

The last time he had a legit big man, Egbunu, UF reached the Elite 8 - Egbunu tore his ACL late in the season against Auburn.

Tell me how hes mediocre?

You’ve been a bubble team 3 out of his 4 years. UF should never be a bubble team IMO.

Agree with you. White and Florida have underperformed based on the level of talent in Gainesville. I think based solely on his on court coaching I'd be surprised if they finished above 3rd this upcoming season.

UF was a bubble team last year. That does not equal 3/4 years

It’s funny how most basketball gurus love White as a coach and a lot of fans think he’s mediocre

I'm not saying he is a bad coach. I'd say he is slightly above average but X's and O's wise that puts him near the bottom of the current SEC in that area. He can put together a roster though and that's half the equation.

White’s single largest issue is his offense. He needs to shore that up to make the big jump.

But given he’s an excellent defensive coach, I don’t have him anywhere near the bottom of the conference in coaching. He’s dealt with more roster issues due to injuries and the like that’s set him back then anything.

1st season: NIT
2nd season: pretty Good
3rd season: preseason top 10, was 17-11 and on bubble with 3 games left till you beat a Hurt Auburn team.
4th season: Bubble

Also wanna note that 2nd year was mostly Chiozza, a Billy Donovan guy... matter of fact last year was really the first year that had mostly White players

This is a solid summary right here. His defense will in general keep them in almost every game. They just go way too cold on the offensive side at times. He is young so you always have that positive as well in regards to his potential growth.

And you fail to point out that White has dealt with more front court injuries in the last 2 years than anyone in the SEC.

He’s arguably the best coach at drawing up BLOB plays. He gave our big men plenty of touches in the paint and they couldn’t convert.

The last time he had a proven big man, UF was Elite.

He’s put together the most talented UF roster since the 06/07 Final Four teams, even more so than the last Billy Donovan 2014 Final 4 team.

They also beat Bama and Kentucky, which were not easy wins.

Actually , UF swept UK in the 17/18 season despite being significantly depleted in the front court.

We were in the middle of our annual collapse when they beat us. Plus UF was a bad matchup for Avery.. they played elite defense and we already had a hard enough time scoring as it was. Somehow he beat them in Gainesville twice
