If Ole Miss improves it'll re spark a lot of hatred. For me especially.

Bama-A&M is gonna be huge this year. Over the next 10 years, I think LSU-A&M might become the biggest. Fairly close, tons of LSU alumns living in Houston, have a good history together.... plus you frickers still owe us $$$

That's because they aren't our rivals. Our rivals have always been Tennessee and Auburn. I don't even dislike LSU, I think they got the most crazies but no hatred for them. Now Aubie and Rocky Top? They can go to hell.
LSU is a big game, nothing more and nothing less. I don't know why some of their fans can't just accept that.

I don't care about Alabama's rivals. I just like watching them play. There's not a team, program, or fanbase that I just hate though Georgia is my least favorite.

I really enjoy how people keep dragging the Bama-Tenn "rivalry".
Poll 100 Bama fans and ask them if they'd rather beat LSU or Tenn this year, I guaran-fricking-tee you'll get 70-80 "LSU" responses.
Much the same as if you polled LSU fans about Ole Piss and Bama.
Traditional rivalries are fine when both teams are on a similar plane, but they don't mean a fricking thing when one team sucks.
Sorry, Aubie. Your rivalry with Bama is nothing more than geographic. You are irrelevant and will be for the foreseeable future.
Enjoy your epic battles with Moo State.

I just don't get why you people don't recognize LSU as a rivalry. We play them every year. Both fanbases have done things to eachother OUTSIDE of the field to warrant a rivalry on and off the field. We freakin stole their coach and won 3 national championships with him. Anybody who says that LSU ISN'T a rivalry, is an old fan or is just some holier than thou traditionalist.
Apparently you have not been a Bama fan for very long.
We did not steal their coach

Exactly what this guy said.
Rivalries, to me, change with the times and trends. RIGHT NOW, LSU and Bama is the biggest rivalry/matchup in the game. Bama fans want to beat LSU the most and vice versa. If you say otherwise, then you must not want your team to go to the National Championship.
Rivalries like Bama/Tenn and Ole Miss/LSU are, right now, irrelevant.

The biggest game on every "schedule" is Bama. It is what it is.

I would rather beat auburn and tennessee than LSU.
I wanted to beat auburn and tennessee more than LSU back in 2011 too.

As elitist as you're trying to sound, it's true.
But for the last few years who has been Bama's biggest game?

LSU and that would be a fact. The championship has gone through this game.
It isn't a pride thing, being an LSU fan and wanting Bama fans to call us a rival. It's just weird that you'd deny it - it obviously is. Both fan bases dislike each other, it's the two top coaches in the game, every game has been fantastic with massive implications, it's gone back and forth (despite Bama's current two game streak), etc.

Not at all. Name a bigger game on anyone's schedule. If you can then ban me. Good luck.

I actually don't hate LSU. I have no reason to. I hate the way some of their fans act sometimes. I hate when we lose to them. But I would hate to lose to auburn or tennessee more. I hate auburn and tennessee more than any other team(well maybe notre damn too).

Tldr
LSU currently is the only program that year in and year out can play at the same level of completion as Alabama.
I have several friends at Bama from Hartselle (sp?) a few from out of state (DFW, LR) and we've duscussed the topic a few times. The out of state friends who went to Bama say their biggest game is usually LSU/Auburn while the guys from Alabama say UT/Auburn. Also, some Bama fans on this board love to "get off" in showing disdainment toward the LSU/Alabama matchup. Of course LSU is going to place more emphasis on the game, you have our old coach and there are and will most likely forever be emotional ties. Take a step back and look at it through our perspective.
What is a rivalry? Depends on the person. I don't hate Bama, their fans make me feel better about myself
. However as we've grown to realize the media controls everything and as time has shown, the LSU/Bama game is the biggest "matchup" year in and out.
I'm sure TSIO is an awesome matchup; however, in the year 2013 the general population/younger generation knows come November, the LSU/Alabama game will be a showdown. Who cares if you hate us, join the club. If you would rather watch a team you don't hate beat that arse..the more the merrier.
Good video of LSU perspective: LSU Fans love to Hate

No one gives a shite about that game outside of those two fanbases.
When it's a rivalry either of those two fan bases give a shite what any of y'all think about it either. I don't care about Michigan and Oh st or Michigan and Michigan St but does not make it less of a rivalry.

Dude that has only gone on for a little over half a decade.
None of us aren't saying Bama-LSU isn't a big game, it is; we're saying we don't despise or hate you. You're just a big game on our schedule. It ain't like you've taken championships away from us or we have a long history of you hurting, reporting us or attempting to damage our program.
You're just a respectable opponent that gives us a big game each year.
Our rivals are Tenn and Auburn. We hate them, they hate us. Even when we aren't good or they aren't this doesn't change.
If LSU stopped being so good would the game be big? No. If we stopped (God forbid lol) would the game still be big? No.
If that is the case there is no way LSU can be considered one of Alabama's rivals.

LSU and Bama is a rivalry period. Right now it is going through a stage similar to UF and Tennessee in the 90s.
A&M and LSU is an old rivalry. Historically it has been big and it will become big again soon.
A&M and Arkansas are kind of a rivalry and was pretty big back in the SWC days. Who know if this will ever become big or not.

Dude, try THIRTY years.
LSU is 15-16*-1 vs Bama since Bear's last season.
LSU is 11-4 at Bama and Bama is 11-4-1 at LSU during that span. It doesn't get much more even than that.
LSU hasn't lost two in a row at Alabama since '78-'80.
Maybe you don't understand that LSU football didn't just start in 2000.
ETA: Further, LSU and Alabama both have 8 division titles and 6 SEC titles in that same span. I'm telling you it's been a close rivalry for thirty years.
