those are two evenly divided divisions with parity on both sides. No free rides for anyone and we get our rivalries we love.

Actually I am looking forward to the aTm and LSU games. I am an older fan so I remember how heated those games were. That will be. Great rivalry

If moving to 16 is inevitable for the big 5 conferences, then I think we should strike first and try to get the best that's available. Teams that I wouldn't mind taking are VA Tech, Duke/UNC, or Oklahoma. Do not want NC State.

Plus scheduling with 16 would be easier if we broke down into those "pods" people keep talking about.

Oh yeah, for sure. The guys in their 20's and 30's don't get it. But when a 4/5 star recruit is lost to the other team, when an ATL spot is lost due to the other team...they'll get it. Hell, A&M beats LSU 2012, they go to ATL.

No for me, but I agree it may be inevitable due to what everyone else does. But if it does happen, I sincerely hope the SEC will go after Va Tech and UNC (or second choice Duke/NC State/Virginia or whatever from NC/VA). I don't have much of an axe to grind with OU, but from a TV standpoint it makes no sense to add OU/OSU compared to east coast teams. And Texas would be a disaster. Everybody that bitches about 'Bama running things... you have no idea. And if you think they're suddenly going to say "OK, we get it, we'll play nice" then you really have no idea.

All these no votes from fans in states that are showing just about ZERO population growth.

I would expect that Mr. Slive would take a team from both Virginia and North Carolina if one became available.

All the population growth in the south is either in Texas or the Atlantic coast with zero in between.

Bringing in OU & OSU would be a disaster. The entire state of OK only has a population of 3.8 million and it isn't growing.

A bit harsh, but I agree with FaWx insofar as we should avoid the Big 12 altogether when considering teams for expansion.

Go East, young man.

The SEC has already added the TV sets in Texas. You want to watch Texas vs New Mexico or A&M vs. LSU?

The big prizes are now over on the Atlantic coast which has a booming population.

Problem is those schools that are east that are not currently in the sec tv market are not very good in football. They water the product down that we offer.
I understand tv homeownership but OK and OK ST add quality academic and athletic prowess to the conference. They are good in multiple sports rather than just football an They aren't just basketball schools like Duke and North Carolina(well obviously baseball with NC).

16 works for me.

Yes if it increases our paychecks, makes geographic sense, and isn't an embarrassment to academics. That means:

UVA or VTech, UNC or NC State, OU.

No:

Any team from Kansas, Okie State, Duke, or any other team from a state already in the SEC footprint.

In the last 10 years, the states with the largest population growth are :
Nevada
Utah
Arizona

Based on your raging hard-on for population growth numbers, I presume these are the states you think we should expand into?

I don't want anymore. In fact I wouldn't shed a tear if we got rid of some we have now.
