May want to do some reading up on that photo, WildTchoupitoulas.

I've heard the excuses.

The funny thing is I've NEVER seen anyone else ever do this, in all my years of watching people prepare for hurricanes. That aggie was the ONLY one EVER to not be able to attach the plywood on the outside.

Why is that?

From my link:

Our windows will not support the weight of plywood screwed into their frames — neither is there sufficient masonry wall surrounding them for an attachment — therefore our contractor a "good Ag" suggested saving the store from a major cleanup and letting the glass go — it wasn't a difficult decision to make!

Why is his store the only one in the history of hurricane preparedness to have windows insufficient for attaching plywood?

(I've been assisting people with hurricane preparedness since Camille, 1969.)

Because College Station buildings were designed without even a thought about Hurricane preparedness, while every single building you deal with on the Gulf Coast has those assumptions baked into the crust.

It is like asking why the water drains off the roads like shite in El Paso, Texas. Could El Paso have a better drainage system? Sure, but they don't because it only rains hard enough to make it a problem once every decade at most.

How many of them had the plywood on the inside?

He was the only one to have plywood up?

Someone should show him how it's done. Obviously he has no examples around to learn from.

You going to just keep spouting this without a single read of the Snopes entry? It explains why this was done.

Or, you can just keep doing this.

No troll and not being stupid. He actually told me this but to be fair, when LSU was recruiting Harvey Williams, that was supposed to be a hang out for him so presume that is why he mentioned it.

No, I read it years ago, just because he's too stupid to figure it out doesn't mean all aggies have to support him in his idiocy.

But that's what y'all do.

There is exactly one time I've seen someone put plywood on the inside, and it has to be an aggie. I mean to tell you, I've seen some dumb arse Cajuns preparing for storms, some that could've also used all manner of idiotic excuses for doing it wrong, but none ever have, they just do it correctly.

You think there's never been a building in Louisiana that wasn't constructed correctly and had insufficient frames around their windows? n You think those drunk Cajuns put the plywood on the inside?

Here's another clue, the fasteners are facing the wrong way when you put the plywood on the inside.

You think they thought about the engineering consequences of their decisions like the Aggie did? No way.

The whole block could've looked that way.
This photo just happened to make the interweb.

Why Does this topic bug you so much?
It's not a big deal.

No, not like aggie, that's why they wouldn't put them on the inside.

Some big garbage can blowing in a 100 mph wind isn't going to just break the glass, it's going to push all that plywood into the building.

When it's on the outside, it's pushing against the structure, when it's on the inside the only thing holding it in place are the fasteners. They would pull out easily as they are facing the wrong way.

Stupid aggies don't want to hear why it's stupid, they just want to listen to the stupid aggie tell them why he did it wrong so they can support his stupidity.

stupid

fricking

aggies

Later.
