I'm not sure how I feel about it. There is so much misinformation around it is kind of hard to blame someone for thinking that they are risking a long term health issue. On one hand I have seen healthy people get really sick and know folks who have died. On the other hand, the press has taken this and made it tenfold as bad with all the hyperbole. I don't agree with it, but I can see how a kid can be a little scared of it. You really don't know what their parents are telling them either.

If a player has genuine health/safety concerns, then I honestly can't fault them for opting out if given the option and accepting all the consequences that come with that.

But I'm a cynical person who thinks most of these assholes opting out for "health" reasons will be in the bars and clubs this weekend.

Pretty much. Why would you leave a staff of highly trained medical professionals at your disposal? Makes no sense.

Meh. If they’re a player or coach with a health condition that puts them at high risk, I don’t blame them at all. They’re not playing at our whims.

I know Terry Wilson thought long and hard about it because he has a kid on the way.

frick anyone who thinks their entertainment should dictate a legitimate concern for their health. That’s makes you the a-hole, not them.

I mean, I get a little their confusion. However.....

A large number of players across the country have had it to date. From all of those that tested positive, how many were hospitalized? How many had serious health problems from it? Seems funny there is little to no info to those questions.

Now, how many players just last year had season ending injuries? How many had career ending injuries? How many missed games due to other health issues, such as the flu and the like? A great many did. Yet no call to end the football season.

How many have actually died in plane crashes, or support personnel in plane crashes or other means of travel? Yet all forms of travel are still utilized today.

It's ridiculous the fear mongering that has been associated with this virus when there is practically nothing more being said other than... SO AND SO TESTED POSITIVE! Ok, so what. Never a follow up that it was lethal to them or detrimental to that young person.

Protect the elderly. Protect those with health issues that are susceptible to any type of added illnesses and let everyone else get on with life. Including sports.
