My son is in the band at U of A. The moment he's done I'm done. Gonna save me $7500 in donation/ticket cost a year. That doesn't even figure in fuel, food, hotels, etc. probably 10k a year. I do it because he worked so hard to get there and get his scholarship I feel like he deserves for us to be there for him and do it up right but when he's done I'm done.

Cute....You think your school won't do the same.....Only about 50 or so schools are going to survive the cut. They probably have ruined our passion!

Same. I'll watch, but I'm spending my money on things to make my experience better, not some coach making millions or teenagers making hundreds of thousands.

The disability claims will be something.

Where is the link that definitively says 2025 is the start date on this?
The only thing can find is the House settlement and it is not close to being settled. The NCAA wants language that they can't be sued for 10 years for this and they legally cannot stop anyone from bringing a lawsuit against them. This House Case is not going to be over anytime soon.

Unless the NCAA comes back next week with some serious concessions in their terms, this thing will go to trial and the NCAA will take another loss AND pay out the arse.

Another left-wing Democrat appointed judge that's probably never watched a football game in her life. They seriously want to ruin every traditional American institution.

Nah the language was that the NCAA was trying to put in the settlement that they couldn't be sued for this for 10 years. They legally can't stop anyone outside of the settlement from filing a lawsuit. That is a huge holdup here.

Nothing changes, except the size of the cheat will be larger.
NCAA (or whoever exists to govern CF) will impose caps, and then all the under the table deals will happen just like the old days.....

THE O$U has 22 million sitting its ashtray in the car. Will make them even more powerful like a Sith Lord . Players will stay 6 yrs bc they will make more than being a fringe NFL player. Look for O$U to win 3-4 nattys in a row . Not fair ,but thats the rules now . Texas will also be a A Sith Lord .

That would be NIL money…Rev sharing isn’t from boosters.

I've yet to find someone happy with the state of things and, at this point, I'm just waiting for some Stanford nerd to get annoyed and decide a casual $100 mil a year for prospects 1 though 25 is no biggie just to prove a point and piss of Phil Knight. Revenue sharing isn't getting rid of sugar daddies.

quote:In the AP article I read, the Judge's main issue with the settlement proposal was where the NCAA (conferences) attempt to regulate and restrict booster funded collectives on NIL deals. The conferences (NCAA) want total oversight and power to enforce their rules for NIL, and the Judge wouldn't have it.

Who knows what the ncaa comes back with, but they want complete oversight, regulation and the power to enforce their rules for NIL.

Now a question - on down the road - could you envision a group (possibly conference) of schools that campaign to "put the college back in college football"... or something along those lines. To summarize, they basically form their own little NCAA and go forth from there.

This will probably become the norm now.
Thanks a-hole.
