I'm not sure if I agree with this. I think it's more of an indictment of the kids behind Rollison, moreso than Tyrik getting in trouble.

maybe not a juco but lots of teams take or try to take a qb every yr.

And lots don't....it's a difference in philosophy and I'm in the camp that says you don't need one every year. Matter of fact, I'm not sure I would be after Newton right now if I were Auburn. I think they have two or three guys on scholly right now that can get the job done. But, I guess they don't want to miss out on a talent like Newton....

I would. And most people do, unless you are signing 2 or 3 a class.

It produces competition. Not to mention the fact that outside of offensive lineman, quarterback is the hardest position to evaluate.

What was his W/L record again?

In the NFL?

I don't know what it was in college, but I know he was 1-2 against Auburn....

You do realize quarterbacks can get injured right? And that most coaches would like to have more than three scholarship qbs on the roster.

You guys should worry about Simms... and McCarron.

They'll both be kicking your team's arse in the coming years.

He was 24-4 in college, which is a very good record for a college QB...

So you put your faith in a QB who was kicked out of Florida for burglarizing a dormitory? Priceless...

Black Grossman(short QB)

And Noodle arm

Yea not too worried.

You should worry if LSU Oline learns how to block.

actually Memphis if what we are hearing is true I am actually excited to see what AJ can do. Saw him at the UT Chat game and he is atleast 150 now. Just kidding he is actually bigger and a lot taller than I expected and he gives the signals in as well so I assume it means he is somewhat intelligent and understands the offense.

What's his previous trouble got to do with his ability to play the QB position?

If he doesn't get into anymore trouble, and I don't expect him to, then he'll be an upgrade over this year's starter.

You guys don't want to see it now, but this commit just made us contenders for the West next year instead of waiting until 2011.......you'll see soon enough though.

Better question is what does this thread have to do with Newton.

Go Argue in one of the 20 Newton threads posted the past 3 weeks.

So you're going to go ahead and call for a high school kid to be the next Drew Brees?

Ballsy.

Yea don't go there. This is not the NFL the offenses are diffrent.

Simms is good, but I just don't see him as a huge threat.

If it wasn't a weak year for QB's simms height alone would have him as a high 4 star and not a 5.
Just not sold on him

You misunderstand(shocker), he's saying short QBs can't have success.

Sims isn't Tyson Lee small...
