You should thank Auburn because your SOS would be worse than it is now if they weren't on your schedule.

You'd think he'd include Alabama's spring game some how.

The first three people who responded to you already dealt with your post and the fallacies behind your thought process, but I'll add one more:

LSU has the back-to-back-to-back SEC champion on their schedule who has lost a total of 4 games the last three seasons. Bama has a team coached by a career d-line coach. Gonna be hard for Bama to overcome that on an SOS measuring stick.

Final 2016 Regular Season SOS #5 - LSU (7-4) #12 - Alabama (12-0) Final 2015 Regular Season SOS #1 - LSU (8-3) #14 - Alabama (11-1) Final 2014 Regular Season SOS #8 - Alabama (11-1) #15 - LSU (8-4)

Alabama had 3, 4 and 4 loss LSU instead of 1, 0 and 1 loss Alabama on their schedule. Walla.

and let's not forget 2011, when the #5 Strength of Schedule and 12-1 Big 12 Conference Champion Oklahoma State Cowboys were DROPPED in the rankings after destroying former #1 Oklahoma, in favor of the

#54 Strength of Schedule and 3rd place SEC finisher Alabama for the 'RIGHT' to go to the BCSNCG,

We haven't, and it's clear you never will. All the excuses about SOS in the world won't take away the only shutout ever in BCS Championship game history (in your home state). It won't erase the memory of 92 yards of total offense. And it won't change that you crossed the 50 ONE time in the game. Clearly, Bama was the best team in the country that year. I've always thought LSU was the 2nd best team in 2011, but you make a good case for Ok State at #2 and LSU at #3.

Oh I would be so sure about that

Did you not watch the Camback? The Ole Miss games? The OSU playoff?

Alabama has actually played itself quite a lot in recent seasons

I fear our SOS is going to take a nosedive after this season. Instead of a home and away with Michigan we have to settle for a home and away with Colorado State.

Ergh.

To make matters worse this is going to be a far more important game for them then it will be for us. Bert needs to "accidentally" trip and fall on Harbaugh.

Auburn took it to Bama in the second half of the Camback. Bama did fold like a cheap tent but Bama sure as hell didn't beat themselves that game.

That was fun, now do South Carolina at #4 vs Alabama at #54.

LOL, well their 2 in-state OOC opponents went a combined 24-5 last year. Of course, one of them was a 1AA team, but all wins count the same so......

To be fair... you can't factor in unknowns. Like the SEC championship game and College Football Playoff games. Perhaps you've heard of them?

No SEC East team should have a higher ranked SoS than a West team by default.

Next season, will be the most favorable schedule we've had in years even with both LSU and Bama on the schedule. But the best part of it, is that we don't have any 4 game meatgrinders like we did last season or the more usual (for our schedule) 2-3 tough games in succession. All the tough games are broken up with easier games in between which isn't often the case for us. It should be a lot more digestible and will help breaking in a new QB.

That said, ranking SOS this far out is wayyyy too early. Last season, no one thought Va. Tech would be any good but by the end of the year Bama and Tenn had the best quality OOC wins in the SEC with wins against USC and Tech. And we wound up playing ~5 teams that either won their division or conference.

Strange, LSU rolled onto our schedule and our SOS for 2017 suddenly tanked. BTW, we beat Florida last season, how'd you do?
