“I have a tie for first in the SEC West this year; I’ve got Alabama and LSU,” Steele said. “In my power poll, I name Alabama as the most talented team in the country, but the top four teams in the SEC this year are Alabama, Mississippi, Tennessee, and LSU [no particular order].

Yep Mississippi finished last in their division. LSU fired Les. And Tennessee only won the life Championship.

Steele is solid as usual with these predictions

Yep, it'll be Bama or Auburn winning the SEC.

Or Bama or Vanderbilt winning the SEC.

Yeah, I bought the Phil Steele magazine earlier this week. He claims all this accuracy and says his mag comes out later than the others so he can get post spring depth charts correct and even talk to actual coaches for more "in depth accuracy". Well, Mr. Steele still had Smokey Graham on our depth chart(transferred to J-State), Malik Dear as a #1 WR(blew his ACL out in the spring), and Jamal Peters as a 2nd string safety(actually a 1st string corner which he played the last few games of 2016). He picked us last but says in no way does he expect a Mullen coached team to finish last. Then why pick us last? Most of us that post on here know more college football than these "experts". He didn't even have an SEC team in the Gator(I refuse to call it Tax Slayer) Bowl. Does he not even know the SEC bowl tier? Some expert.

Florida is 11-1 against the SEC East the last 2 years. Hard to claim we won "by default" when, by every metric, we have dominated the division. We're 2-2 against the West (3 ranked opponents) in that same time frame, with only the one embarrassing loss last year.

If love to see what every other SEC team's record would be if they played Bama, FSU, and Michigan 5 times in the last 2 years.

That's impressive on the surface, but the East has been really bad all around the last few years. On top of that seems like y'all have gotten pretty lucky with the timing of some games catching teams while they were cold.

I think the blowouts both times y'all played FSU and Bama as well as getting blown out by Michigian and Arkansas are more indicative of where Florida has really been the last 2 years.

Anyone could win the east but it's likely going to be UF or UGA.

Switch Mississippi State and LSU and put Texas A&M last.

Whoever is discounting UT is blinded by fake news. We beat uga and uf last season and then got decimated by injuries. It could go to anyone this year. Eats is wide open as usual.

Kentucky is the trendy pick but everyone seems to forget Kentucky fricking sucks at football

Yeah but y'all lost all y'alls top players from last year.
- Multi year starter at QB - GONE
- top RB - GONE
- top WR - GONE
- top DL and arguably best defender in the SEC - GONE
- top LB - GONE
- top DB - GONE

Plus there's the whole thing about Butch Jones being your head coach

This ain't your daddies Kentucky. Stoops has some good talent in Kentuckty. Can't wait til he's home in Iowa City

Plus every team in the East has glaring weaknesses. It wouldn't be a shock for any East team to lose to any East team.

Tennessee has plenty of talent and experience returning. Top lb and top db barely played last year. We have a very good returning o line and plenty of offensive playmakers. Defense was decimated by injuries last year towards the end. Those guys are coming back.

Kentucky has beaten us 1 time in 30 years. We've recruited much better than them every year. Forgive me for not quaking in my boots. Butch Jones has been our coach for 4 years and Uk hasn't come close to beating us.

I agree with you about the east though. Wide open

Maybin did not play after the VT game. Sutton didn't play against UGA and UF.

Get Kirkland, Tuttle, McKenzie back who were hurt.

Dobbs, Kamara and Barnett are obviously very big losses but the losses of Sutton and JRM are very exagerrated. VOLS pretty much returning 15/16 starters.
