There’s not a single HC or OC in the country that you could plug in at gay&m that would worry me. Jimbo’s poverty program is too far gone at this point

Ya’ll should sign Jimbo and Bobby to lifetime extensions while you still can! These two are amongst the greatest minds in all of cfb and beating LSU proves that.

I mean he polished up Lamar Jackson a bit as a passer but Lamar still never hit the 60% completion mark in college. Most of that offense was just Lamar making things happen.
quote:
There is a much easier way to go about this. Just put Jackson in the read-option offense, where plays are called for him, he doesn't have to take the snap from right under the center, and he can just run around or quickly make throws without having to read a defense.
But no. That's not what's happening at Louisville, because an unexpected thing happened when Jackson showed up on campus. It turned out he can pass. Big-time. Not just throw. Pass.
Besides, Jackson has no dream about running the read-option, anyway. Petrino is a pro-style coach. And Jackson believes that's the only way to make it in the NFL. Again, that's what he's here for.
His instincts take over," Petrino says. "If stuff flashed in front of him, he would take off and run. As a quarterback, you drop back and your focus is downfield and all of a sudden, an other-color jersey flashes in front of you or they run a linebacker blitz.
"Sometimes your eyes come down on that and don't stay focused. Not one quarterback I've coached has not done that at one time or another. So what we've been working with Lamar is when all that color flashes in front of you, keep your focus down the field and stand in there and make the throws."
How do you get him to do that?
"What we did this spring was say, 'OK, we're going to work hard on throwing the ball on time,'" Petrino says. "When he took off and ran or left the pocket, I would just blow the whistle. He'd give me one of these—shrug, 'I would've run for a touchdown, Coach.' I'd say, 'I don't care. I want to see you throw for a touchdown.'
"So we just forced the issue. We took his legs away."
There was that. Between that and the film study making more and more sense, Jackson started to understand his mistakes.

Yeah, he “just polished him up a bit.”

What I remember about Petrino is that despite having some of the best running backs in players like McFadden, he couldn't for the life of him close out a game with the run.
You couldn’t be more wrong if you tried. He never had McFadden, and he’s had several highly successful running backs and is widely known for having a balanced attack with the ability to close out games with the run. I witnessed it in his years at Arkansas. Stop making shite up.

Bro seems like he’d suck petrino off if given the opportunity
We get it, you think he’s a good hire

I wouldn’t feel the need to keep posting about it if there weren’t monkey brained idiots in here talking out of their monkey asses.

He was a career 57% passer in college.
Has bumped it up to 64% in the NFL.

Yeah, which is why LSU fans are worried. Petrino has always given LSU trouble.
Petrino is 2-3 vs LSU and averages 23 points per game.

Does other people’s opinions on an OC that isn’t even your teams matter that much to you? I don’t get on here that often but some of you need to go outside or get a fricking life lmao

Nice response jackass. You seem equally as big of a loser as you do retarded. Keep posting about another schools OC, people care so much about your opinion

Jimbo's ego would never allow this to happen. He will sabotage it himself before he allows someone else to get credit.

If swamp rat is so great why did they get rejected by several HC’s and Jimbo three different times.

Sure as frick didn't happen against Alabama. It seemed like every year under Petrino Arkansas would get a lead and then lose it in the 4th quarter, unable to sustain a drive to close the game out.
My memory on personal might not be great, but I'm not making shite up.

The two that I know about are Riley and Jimbo. Riley actual contract close, jimbo contacted three times throughout the year by woodward on whether he would come or not.
No. What you know about is whatever bullshite Jimmy Sexton and Trace Armstrong leaked into the public domain to get their clients better deals.

It could also be fantastic. It’s like a power hitter who is swinging for the fences. They get the big contracts. All this handwringing is unnecessary.
One would have thought that ATM would have gotten gun shy with the fence swingers and their big contracts.....a fence swinger with a contract so big even Texas Oil Money can't buy him out is the problem currently.
