If swamp rat is so great why did they get rejected by several HC’s and Jimbo three different times.
None of that happened, nice deflection though.

Who turned LSU down?

Where is he going to have top 5 talent? It sure as hell aint gonna be at ATM....Over the last 6 years ATM averaged the #8 class in the nation and the number 4 class in the SEC and the #3 class in the SEC West LOL....Jimbo is gonna have to pick it up to have an average of top 5 classes for more than one year at a time...

Damn you faggies are pathetic. “Melt bitch!!!” Can’t even come up with a response with any substance with your program being the dumpster fire it is.

If Bobby Petrino is so great, why were his only options UNLV and A&M?

Let's revisit this in a year or two

Pretty different landscapes when all these coaches supposedly turned LSU down and we still wind up with one of the winningest coaches in football who did something in year 1 here that hasn't happened in 11 seasons for A&M in the SEC - win the West.
Meanwhile A&M gets to "hand pick" UNLV's OC who is coming from FCS as their first choice, obviously. Enjoy that

Petrino has had 3 good offenses in his last 9 seasons of football. 4 of those seasons were mediocre offenses and 2 were flat out bad.
2 of those good years were with Lamar Jackson as well. And Lamar Jackson is not walking through A&M any time soon. As soon as Lamar Jackson left him at Louisville he went 2-8 and got fired with one of the worst offenses in the entire country that year.
This is Jimbo's forced hire he didnt want to do in the first place, struck out on everyone else he may have wanted and circled back to Petrino. This is his Coach O Bo Pelini moment. Petrino is a hot head now in his 60s after his career spiraled downwards recently and Jimbo doesnt want to give up control of his offense. It's a match made for disaster.
No only does Petrino not have a stellar record as a football coach he most definitely has a stellar record as a douche bag. Coupled with the blatantly obvious bipolar Fisher who also appears to suffer from the ending stages of functional alcoholism and the odds of things ending in a blazing public display of outrageous behavior in College Station is an almost dead certainty....ATM has gone from hiring a con man for a HC to hiring a documented lunatic douche bag with a horrible coaching pedigree overall as OC...what could go wrong???

Freeze has a far more recent scandal, it was far worse, and he's a head coach in the SEC again.
In the time since his scandal, Bobby coached at Western Kentucky, got fired from Louisville, and was middling at Missouri State.
I think Bobby was an excellent offensive mind back in 2010, but so was Jimbo.

2016, when his QB won the Heisman, was so long ago. The game has changed so much since then. /sarcasm

Yet the quarterback's stock has risen since then and Bobby P's has continued to fall.
Much like Jimbo/Jameis.

This time next year the bumps will be marvelous.

I don't think anyone is saying he was the first choice.

The two that I know about are Riley and Jimbo. Riley actual contract close, jimbo contacted three times throughout the year by woodward on whether he would come or not.

Personalities may clash, we'll see. But with the characters Jimbo's got on his staff already, he may be the kind of HC to acquiesce to the stronger personalities and let them operate.

Could it go wrong? Sure. It could. So what?
It could also be fantastic. It’s like a power hitter who is swinging for the fences. They get the big contracts. All this handwringing is unnecessary.
