This. Honestly, you can't blame LSU fans for reaching on this. I'd be doing the same and so would every Arkansas fan if the shoe was on the other foot. Just hope BP can put this behind him and get ready for a promising season.

My initial thought was that he wouldn't be fired, but that was before I knew some things, namely the hiring process, not to mention that Long's attitude tonight seemed to imply that he had flat out lied about it.

This. Arkansas uses the moniker "equal-opportunity employer" on their own employment openings website. Without confirmation, this seems to be a job open for applicants. If even 2 people applied for the job but no one was interviewed before she was hired, thats asking for a lawsuit. They can claim equal opportunity wasn't followed and Arky would be on the hook for a lot of money.

The personnel issues have nothing to do with athletics. It would be the same issue if it were the Director of Alumni Services doing the same thing. It's out of the AD's hands, I'm afraid, and I honestly don't think they'll have a choice. They can't make an HR exception of this magnitude for him just because he's the football coach and wins games.

No, please explain. This should be awesome to hear. The fact is none of you are lawyers. None of you are EO reps. None of you have any knowledge whatsoever in the legality of the hiring process at the UofA. Please stop talking and showing how ignorant you are. You know that blue is blue and water is wet. I'm sorry but if my coach is doing what Petrino did, I'd expect him to be fired....even if he was averaging 10 wins a season. I wouldn't spin it. In a situation like this, success on the field doesn't matter.
