Not really. A conference is only going to get two BCS games at most, and Alabama and Florida were going, with LSU fighting for it too.

You have to be messing w/ the Hog fans.
Nutt was an improvement over YawYaw as HC, but you have to be honest and realize that he at least stocked the cupboard for Nutt.
Nutt left absolutely no defensive talent, and not much more on offense - some but not much.

Because most didn't consider the Nutt factor.

I wonder how many LSU fans would trade Miles for Petrino?

Well I'm sure we could get him but he wouldn't be in my top 15

I don't think you could get him anyway. I have it on good authority that Petrino hates the smell of corndogs. It makes him sick.

He would have crawled all the way to Baton Rouge, had they offered the job in 2004.

A lot of drunk posting on here. Petrino's contract prohibits him from going to an SEC West school. So no, LSU cannot have him if they tried.

sorry D I disagree I think Petrino will be a good coach and Ark will br tougher atleast offensively than they have ever been. Bama has a great record against Ark but we cant chalk that one in the win column any more just because they are Ark.

Nutt knew what he was doing, he left at the right time, he left them nothing, a couple decent players and a whole lot of nothing.

They tried to fire him for three straight seasons.
Kinda hard to recruit under those conditions.
Petrino has done nothing to improve on the defensive side of the ball for Arkansas.

He'll be on the hotseat in 2010 and the inevitable clusterfrick that follows will force the administration to make a change

I am not saying LSU beats us next yr depending on if Ro and KJ return but LSU will win atleast 9 games next yr and yall will not fire a 9 win coach. The univ would take a cred hit firing a NC coach 3 yrs after who has not lost more than 5 games in a season. LSU was not great this yr and was closer to being a 7/8 win team than a 10 win team but his record is not bad at LSU. This is not the same era as when Bama was firing Perkins and Curry.

12-12 at Arky with a good chance to fall to 12-13 with a loss here to ECU of all teams. He's also just 5-11 in SEC play. Why does everyone think he's any good?

Thank you for taking time away from your booger picking to make such an astute observation...

Yea but we are on point w/ the Mike Shula era of Bama as it relates to Miles. Both good recruiters and underachieving w/ said talent. Except Miles was handed a much better situation. Thanks again Skip.

A reasonable post. I've been blasted for saying that for any team to get to the SEC championship game they have to go through Bama first.
