Gary is good. I prefer Blackledge's delivery, though. He can point out the same thing as Gary in a more pleasant way. Verne's voice is like Tupelo Honey. Music to my ears.

The CBS broadcast is the best produced college game out there, and by far.
Verne is classic and Gary is pretty solid color guy.
SEC never needs to drop CBS. National broadcast every Saturday afternoon. frickin classic with that intro theme being the tits as well.

Gary is a fricking Bama homer who sucks bamas dick 24/7. The other day Bama got an int and I heard him say "there we go" softly as it happened and he didn't mean for the mic to catch it. I hate that guy.

Would take Gary over any of them with Blackledge 2nd. These 2 guys pay very close attention to tbe game, and they are very knowledgable, and they pass that on to the viewers. Many others dont even seem to pay attention to the game being played, and talk about other shite for the whole game.

I cut my teeth on LSU football listening to Verne and Gary during the early 00's when the Tigers were showing up on CBS more often. Can't imagine watching an LSU football season without being treated to Verne's stupid laugh at least a few times.

Gary and Blackledge are the best in the business when it comes to breaking down X's and O's. Most of the other analysts offer little to no supplemental info when breaking down a play. Ironic considering that's kind of their job.

This. I'll take Verne at 25 percent of his prime over Joe Tessitore, Mark Jones, Dave Neal and Mike Patrick, just to name a few.
And Nessler/Blackledge duo is downright solid. Love a game with either Verne/Gary or Nessler/Blackledge.

Bingo.Listened to them call many thrilling Saturday night games on ESPN.Gary Thorne should also be calling games for some prominent network.
