We can thank Texas for fricking everything up for the rest of us. If they had just been anything other than the greedy pieces of shite they are, all of this realignment mess never happens.
I was against the idea of expansion from day 1, but it was always going to happen and it will happen one more time if the Big 10, Pac 12, or SEC can lure away a couple of Big 12 or ACC teams and cause one or both of those conferences to begin the Big East death cycle by adding a bunch of C-USA and Sunbelt teams as replacements.

Already happening. They're one bad season away from adding Louisville and Cincinnati for backup.
ETA: forgot about the ACC. Conference realignment got really boring for me recently.

Hopefully TCU or OSU win the Big 12. The two traditional big boys are in decline, especially Oklahoma. They are in free fall I would say.

oklahoma has been kicked out of the state, and thus have nowhere to recruit. Texas and A&M will get theirs every year.

Wait, we're a top ten team, we're initiating construction on the SEC's largest venue, we have fans with gobs of money, we just produced a Heisman winner and three other All-Americans, and we had arguably the greatest offense in SEC history last year ...

That sucks, even though current students at any SEC school weren't alive when Arky was in the SWC. I think they're mostly saying it to get under our skin.
