Lane knew the implications going into the Florida game and decided to start a 6th string receiver at RB.
Trolling aside, still the most bizarre decision I've seen a coach make in the context it was in. Have a healthy RB currently in year 2 in the NFL and you move a back-up slot WR to RB because of whatever personal grudge you have. Dude averages 2 yards a carry, blows all of his pass protections, and loses a fumble.

Lane took USC down to the shitter, so there is that as a counterpoint.

3 years. And he started at Ole Miss pre NIL and transfer portal, when it actually took time to rebuild a program because you had to do it through high school recruiting and developing those players.
LSU literally stormed the field after beating Ole Miss during that 3 year window and Auburn tried to hire him so obviously some people thought his program was already built.
The bottom line is since Golding has been in Oxford they have won at a much higher rate than before he got there. He must bring something to the table

Does that window include the other time they stormed the field?

Since 2000 I think LSU has stormed the field maybe 5 times
Bama twice, Ole Miss Twice, Georgia once.... I may be missing one... In that same amount of time we have won 3 National Titles, 5 SEC Titles, Played for another national title and played for 2 other SEC titles....
I'm not sure how many times Ole Miss stormed the field since 2000 but I know all the other things were ZERO

Does this make you feel better about Pete being your HC?

Golding only coached the defense. In Golding's 3 years as DC, they had a good defense in 2024 and had an ok/bad defense in 2023 and 2025. You can do with that what you want but the reason Ole Miss won all the games they did was they've had one of the best offenses in the country the past several years. You seem to be confusing (probably intentionally given your post history in re LSU) correlation with causation.

Lane Kiffin’s record at Ole Miss with a scoring defense ranked 55th or better 42-9.
Lane Kiffin’s record with a scoring defense ranked 56 or worse:
13-10
The answer is he just needs a passable defense.

Pac 12, look at the classes he was still signing. Made no sense that he was that bad.
