A buddy of mine just posted on Facebook that Pete is a better coach than Saban because he is winning at the next level. Do you buy that rationale?

No, because winning in the NFL isn't harder, it's just different. Saban is about to win his fourth national championship, and unless my memory is foggy the NCAA doesn't recognize Carroll as ever winning a national title.

Ask your buddy who he'd rather coach his favorite team.

Yes, the NFL made Saban's arse quit.

How many here, at the collegiate level, would rather have Carroll over Saban?

Did you watch college football when Carroll was at USC?

I'll take 83-19 Carroll, actually I think it's a better record than that.

It's about coaching style. Carroll preaches playing loose, Saban preaches preparation and execution. Mark Richt would make an excellent NFL HC, and so would Miles.

No, just no.

I always thought a CFB HC and NFL HC two different jobs. Petey did very well at collegiate level, and on his 2nd stint pretty good at NFL. I doubt Saban gives NFL a 2nd try, no reason to.

will have to wait and see if Saban will take his 2nd chance in the NFL (as Carroll is on his 2nd and was much worse in his first trip than Saban--who was left without a QB thanks to team Dr.s)

And we will have to wait until after 2 dismal season to see if Saban can pull something out of his arse in his 3rd season. Even after replacement refs give his team 2 wins earlier in the season.

what I'm saying is...apples v. oranges.
