According to the report, NCAA investigator Jackie Thurnes was in Montgomery interviewing a businessman with ties to the school.
One allegation that Thurnes is reportedly looking into has to do with the suit Cam Newton wore to the Heisman Trophy ceremony.
One such individual, Thomas Buckelew, a tailor at Buckelew's Clothing for Men in Montgomery, Alabama, finds himself buffeted by allegations that he provided high-priced suits to Cam Newton at reduced costs. The very suits, you guessed it, that Newton wore at the Heisman ceremony. According to sources, Newton's suits, ties included, cost in excess of $4,000 each. NCAA investigator Jackie Thurnes was informed of this allegation, and the NCAA has spent time investigating its validity.
When contacted by outkickthecoverage.com Buckelew admitted that he knew Newton and had worked with him but then said he'd "rather not get into it" and that he hasn't talked to anyone with the NCAA about his relationship with Newton. Buckelew also went on to say that he hopes the attention on him continues because it's been "good for business."

Correct and it took a hack needing to drum up Business from an 8 mos old story that had already made it's rounds once and nothing came of it.

Look I am messing with you, but for the record never saw this story make the rounds on this subject. It could have, but I doubt it.
Anyways I am so looking forward to September or when AU gets its NOA so we all can move on.
Pipe dream, I know.

Yeah. This was already posted either this week or last.
I'm amazed at the folks who will believe the Cam conspiriousy with little to no evidence of wrong doing. However, when some very questionable photos pop up, it's all BS?
There might be some secondary violations there, but the pics sure look a lot worse.

So which is it? The quote in the OP or the quote from ITAT?
I'm glad someone else sees this guy for what he is. He's straight from the ITAT cesspool.

You can find signed AU memorabilia all over the web. How do you people justify your hypocrisy?

Probably the difference is:
Cam was arrested for a felony. Quoted by police as saying he took it, then told everyone else he bought it. His dad lied about shopping him. Cam lied again in an interview concerning laptop and his role in taking it. Rumors, without denial about cheating in school. His dad's wording about if Cam was guilty or not, saying whatever the NCAA finds is what is right.
vs
A picture or two.

You have pics of the starting Auburn, LSU, Georgia, etc, etc, etc starting backfield doing autograph sessions at a local business man's place of business? It is an easily drawn conclusion that they were helping advertise his business which, whether they were paid or not, is a violation.

You forgot something
The NCAA's ten-month investigation is further complicated by the continuing fount of allegations, many untrue, levied by Alabama fans in the state. These allegations have thrust ordinary citizens into the forefront of the rumor machine. I thought the Heisman foundation provided the suit for the ceremony. Why would the NCAA need to investigate this?

SIAP, but have you guys seen all of Julio's suits. What kind of college kid has this many suits? Didn't he grow up in poverty?

There were allegations that Cam and possibly other Auburn players had received discounts from the store owner. Any yes, the Heisman Foundation does allow a wardrobe allowance. Don't know how much it is.

Yeah, is was already posted several days ago. So both teams are equally guilty.
What gets me, is that this whole NCAA business with Cam was started by Miss. State and Florida people, but the AU fans immediately start digging for dirt on Alabama.

Safe to say it isn't 4000 dollars worth.

Who said the NCAA was investigating it? Oh yea, Clay Travis said it. Interesting how the NCAA is investigating this but they havent talked to the owner of the store who was interviewed in the article.
Strange isn't it.
