I thought the same thing and Pensacola, Florida isn't exactly the a-hole of the universe.
Also one wonders if they would have ever made $150K and $300k a year coaching basketball if they hadn't hitched their wagons to Pearl's star?

Again...it’s the "working grunts" that get the shaft. Yes they could have said they recognized the pic as Pearls home but then they would never coach on the college level again in their lives.

9 times out of ten the assistants either know the HC is cheating or it is the assistants doing the cheating for the HC. I'm not listening to any sob stories. When you hitch your wagon to a erratic driver, you take the risk of crashing.

I am not defending Pearl. But these guys didn't have a problem with the lies till they were caught. So they can cry to someone else. I could care less. Try getting up and going to a real job for awhile ....
But I do agree with the stupid part. It was all a minor thing that their own stupidity caused. Nothing would have came from this it not for the lies. Just plain stupid. On their parts and Pearls.

They knew what they were doing. No reason to pretend they're getting screwed over in all of this.

I was going to say, were they not part of the cheating?
If you do the crime, the pay the fine.
And it is not like Pearl is working his dream job...he is a mouth piece for a grocery chain.

Actually, yes. They were the ones who made too many phone calls and they are the ones who lied about the photo. Pearl did lie, but only to try to not out them. Not saying its right, but the assistants shite the bed to begin with. Also, 1. Nobody made them take a $20k a year job. 2. They weren't gonna get any buyout money at all and Pearl negotiated to get them 3 months salary and benefits. That's better than 0. They may not realize it now, but they screwed the pooch when they opened their mouths about this. HCs value loyalty over everything and by saying this no one will ever hire them on a big time staff again.
