Nobody gives a frick

don't get me wrong, nobody cares about OP's rambling...but your reasoning is suspect

Pretty funny they hadn't run a play like that all season and Kirby admitted they were expecting it. Atlanta is a UGA town with Ga Tech inside it.

Paul Johnson uses Wake Forest scandal to zing Kirby Smart

“In fact, our last game, didn’t the guy from Georgia say they knew that the throwback was coming?” Johnson asked. “That’s pretty good, since we hadn’t run it all year.”

That's a zing in Tech circles? Ok then.

Fish Fry knows he has to get his digs in now before Kirby starts another long winning streak for UGA over Tech. So, you can expect another 11 months or so of this witty banter

Just glad Johnson gets to play Kirby for at least 1 more year, probably 2.

Tech doesn't get to play incompetent coaches at UGA very often, so it will be enjoyed.

I'm pretty sure there's more than one year of film on Paul Johnson at Tech but someone can correct me if I'm wrong.

That's true, but doesn't explain how Smart would "know it was coming" and choose to "rep it hard all week."

Yea, coaches always look at film from 3 years ago, find a random play that never gets used, and then make absolutely sure that one play is studied in depth on the off chance it might finally get used due to it being so tough.

Tech doesn't run many plays. Outliers stick out and get repped a shite ton.

Well, if you know a trick play is in the bag and your RIVAL hasn't used it yet, I think it's a safe assumption that the trick is coming.

Also, as already said, GT doesn't use a ton of plays. Understanding how to defend the triple option is less about each individual way it is run and more about the concepts of discipline and just doing your job on every play. As such, a play like a throwback stands out as an outlier that needs to be worked on over and over, as opposed to working on whether the option is going left or right.
