Texas is installing grass in DKR Texas Memorial Stadium for the 2025 season.

They may have wanted it like that to slow down Tenn offense.
Not saying that’s the case but guys were slipping and sliding all over

If it makes a fast team slower, are you suggesting it makes a slow team faster?
Obviously not, but it doesn’t effect a slower team that’s practicing on it all week proportionally to a fast team not used to it.

Everyone has some bad sod every now and again. My question......Is there anything in the works to make more room on the sidelines? Looks like injuries waiting to happen.

Most in the Southeast use Tif419. That may be the problem.

I remember when North Texas went to play at Knee Land one year and they excoriated the Vols for the poor condition of the turf.

OU did everything they could to win this game...
You mean like completing passes down the field by not staring the defender right into the perfect position to defend that pass? Because if that's what you mean, we sure didn't do 'everything' we could do to win the game.

No stadium lights? Probably worst and most outdated stadium in SEC Blinking lights and fireworks were cheesy
Don’t mind the fireworks, but the poor lighting at OU is shocking. A light post in each of the 4 corners is insufficient. Really subpar lighting for a program of that caliber.

I've never understood the logic behind this...team A grows grass out to slow down team B.....that also slows down team A.
UGA's dumbass fans think we can grow grass that injure only opposing players.

So it's an equal/unequal/equal playing field? Roger that.

Hahah, that's some serious next level sabotage

Think about it this way. Let’s say you have a speedy WR and a not as fast CB. Put them on a track and that WR blows the CB away.
Now put them on turf that is slower than normal. Let’s take away 5% of each’s speed. That CB might stay close enough to make a play on the ball.
To take it to the extreme, let’s say you have to run a 100m race against Usain Bolt. You can either run on a track on on deep sand at the beach. You are definitely going to get blown away in the former. You are probably going to keep it a bit closer in the sand if measured by distance apart. (Time difference might increase because it becomes a lot slower race but you would be closer distance wise.)

I don’t believe for one second this had anything to do with players. You picked a 1 on 1 example - but its really 22 on 22 plus all the depth players - and where it helped you in one area it hurts in another. You might slow qb down where it allows D to catch him easier on scrambles.
This was simply week prior many fans and local media complained it looked too brown vs Tulane. So they did some watering and chemicals and got it to green up and grow fast. But the GameDay event meant they had to prepare “and paint” the field earlier than normal and since that type grass grows fast it had extra time. They wanted field to look nice for all the events late week so once they painted it (all the logos and end zone and field lines) they couldn't mow it again else would have to repaint.
The new grounds guy will learn how to handle better going forward working with and explaining the time he needs allotted to do it right. It was green as frick compared to prior week so for media reasons it looked great on all their press coverage leading up to game.
No one answered, did Tenn have other cleats to put on?

This is funny coming from an LSU fan look in the mirror at your ghetto stadium. The town literally smells like sewage and they live there. Then you walk in that crap hole and realize the smell is the best part it just goes dowhill from there.
