I want to know why those of you who think the CSA battle flag is a symbol of slavery give the Kente cloth a pass. Far worse conditions of slavery existed in Africa before the White man purchased the first slave from West Africa, and still does there. Africans were often extremely savage to one another. So why give the Kente cloth a pass?
\
Addendum: LINK / The Kente Cloth was the attire of the Ashanti Slave traders in Africa. Why is this cloth being honored?
I respect their right to the Kente cloth. I wouldn't even mind if the University subsidized the Kente cloth ceremony for Black grads. But it is time for reciprocity. Southern students deserve to have love and respect for their heritage too, as imperfect as it might be.

Ever since UA opened its office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, I have had a sense of dread
Simply close that Office
Then wait & watch as other Teams negatively recruit against Bama, which in turn will lead to your Bagmen having to deliver heavier bags and buy nicer Cars to maintain your normal level of Recruiting
You just don't understand the kind of presumptuous a-hole you have to be to expect every Black Player at Bama to attend the school on your terms and never have an opinion about anything, ever
You are effin pathetic
Iowa's HC has allowed his Players to use Social Media, you need to read some of their posts, my guess is that Bama's players think the same way
I'll update with a link
It won't be long before Bama's Players feel this way, especially after reading through some of these Threads

I do understand why so many young Blacks feel outraged at "White privilege," etc., cause the media has failed to present the other side. NO one in the media, other than Tucker Carlson, presents the crime and race data that prove BLM is based on a lie.
And you assume that all Blacks think the same on this issue. I follow a number of Blacks on twitter who think the current anti White mania is nuts.
And no, I am not opposed to players sharing their thoughts via social media. I am just sad for them and for Whites, that they think Whites are to blame for inequities based on the vicious anti White lies of the media and the corporate masters. Woke capitalism is a truly evil phenomenon.
By the way, let's see how much you really know about crime and race.
How many UNARMED Black men were killed by cops last year, per the Wa Post? How many White unarmed men were killed by cops?
What percentage of interracial violence is done by Blacks?
Which group commits more than half of the homicide in this nation?
Which group has the largest percentage of people in hate groups?
Which group has the highest interracial rape rate?
Which group has 20 to 30 times the frequency of run ins with cops?
Do you really believe that young Blacks would be as angry as they are, if the media only told the truth about crime and race in the US? I think they would be a lot less angry, even if many of them are only admitted to UA because of their athletic talent. They would feel safer. But the media does not care about Black people. It only cares about sowing division and making money. If it bleeds it leads. Especially if the blood is in the extremely rare circumstance in which the blood is drawn by a White person.
As much as I love Alabama football and all of its athletes, Black and White, I would prefer UA have losing seasons than appease ideologues who will never be satisfied, and who will, over time, bring the university down to their level.

I was not saying the tax collection took place there, but having a fort so close to trading routes was essential to continue the Union's ability to collect tariff revenue.
How? Be specific please.
Can you provide examples of foreign flagged ships not being allowed to enter Charleston Harbor because of the American garrison on Ft. Sumter?

I mean, I do know, but it's sometimes impolite to point it out.

Not sure why a political discussion is on a sports board. Yeah I know it was initially about a SECSchool but its been about politics for most of the thread now. It's also a topic that never has resolution

I kinda like discussing stuff like this on this board. Everyone thinks it’s just a troll fest on here but threads like this show we’re a little bit dignified

I'll say it again. You don't see Germany celebrating the accomplishments of Nazis and honoring the swastika because they have rightfully accepted it as a shameful disgrace. Same thing needs to happen with the antebellum south.

If this is just about the civil war and the people involved in the CSA, then why is the same group toppling Columbus. Jefferson, Washington, Jackson, and even the Star Spangled Banner?
Clue... That's not the goal!
