Neither Peterson or Jimbo were some great find. Everybody knew who they were. It was just a matter of putting a big enough number on the contract.

I believe that is 2 bidding wars LSU has won now against A&M. Armada and Woodward.
Actually on second thought I’m so sure LSU won a bidding war for Woodward. As fast as this story advanced it seems like LSU offered the job Woodward accepted. When he told A&M he was gone they thought he could be convinced to stay but really had no chance. Sounds to me like Woodward was just waiting for the call for BR.
