Who should they have played then (in the SEC)? Nobody knew South Carolina was going to be a top 15 team. Auburn and LSU are down, Mizzou is meh. Would you rather they have played Florida, Vandy, and A&M, rather than Tennessee, South Carolina, and Mizzou?

What? I never said our schedule should be changed. All I stated was 6 of the 8 were ranked in top 22 AP poll. We played offense like shite but had mostly backups playing. Any game was gonna be a challenge.

Not sure why posters are making stuff up. Just stating facts about our schedule is all. Take it or leave it no big deal. Hardest SEC schedule in history and we laid an egg. We’ll do better next year. I loved the game atmospheres so much better than before, top notch and best in college football.

If I was a Texas fan, I'd be pissed about this. Season ticket holders got one big home game. Next year, their home slate is Arkansas, vandy, and aTm. Another year of one big home game in the SEC.

I think you’re missing everyone’s point. This is going to be the norm for OU. For example, LSU played #1 Alabama, #5 UGA, #10 Florida, #18 MSU, #19 A&M in 2018 and didn’t go 6-6. Maybe your head coach isn’t SEC material. He went 6-6 his first year too……

Yes, beyond the wins and losses is the actual fan experience. OU got Tenn/SC/Bama for home games (our 4th was tx in the RRS/Dallas). Since we are road game at RRS next year we get OM/Aub/Mizzou/LSU home games next year. And away at Tenn/Bama/SC.

All of those are great fan experiences and is what college football is all about. Fans said their LSU away experience was great and so was OM and Aub.

Not really. It will even out after 25. Show me how many top 25 tx played this year. Not a complaint just using them as example. Once the commish figures out how uneven they aligned the first 2 years they’ll balance it out or go to divisions maybe even pods. Tx is not as good as their record and we’re not as bad as ours (just saying if you flipped the schedules).

What the commish has to look at is how many SEC teams miss out on playoffs by playing a harder schedule. If he sees it cost them slots he might go to div or pods. And might tell teams to schedule creampuffs in all 4 OOC games.

It will take 2 years to see how it works and what if anything the commish does. Some of the 6 top 25 we played might slip next year too.

If you say norm is playing 6 top 25 teams that would imply there will be 12 top 25 SEC teams - since they broke up the OU/tx schedules (we don’t play any teams they did and vice versa) .

Once we get to 26 if he does not make divisions but redoes teams, the avg would be 4 to 5 top 35 teams in a tough year. Thats a guess but 6 in a year will not be normal nor has been normal.

Again, the fan experience part was great. After 25 is over then we’ll have a chance to see some of the 7 teams we missed in 24/25 most likely.

Take it to the “I’m a count and my team is poor and retarded” board.

And we finally picked an OC. Ben Arbuckle. We’ll be much better on O next year for sure. Mateer likely cokes with him.

Final regular season TD leaders:

1. John Mateer - WSU
44 total
29 passing
15 rushing

2. Cam Ward - Miami
41 total
36 passing
4 rushing
1 receiving

QB’s Ben Arbuckle coached ranked by recency:
1. John Mateer (2024)
2. Cam Ward (2023)

You are missing the point of SEC dominance. When the league starts manipulating the schedules to make it easier for more members to qualify for the playoffs, it makes the whole league weak. Iron sharpens iron, and steel, steel. Coaches are going to recruit harder, practice harder, and scheme better, or they won’t be coaching here very long.

Unfortunately, your team was not one of the 6 ranked SEC we played. Yes we lost, but we lost to most everyone not something to brag about beating us lol. I see Luther went pro. Good luck next year

Their offensive line better improve, regardless of who the OC/Qb is next year.

Ole Miss had to play 5 top 15 divisional opponents in 2010.

I know State has had 5 ranked conference opponents in a season many times.

Only makes sense that the likelihood of drawing 6 ranked conference games would go up with the addition of two quality programs and no divisions, as evidenced by it happening to multiple teams in year one.

Oklahoma got a tough draw, shite happens, welcome to the party

I'm saying that...yes, half the top 25 are typically SEC teams. Exactly that. The current SEC...going forward...will contain about half (maybe more) of the top 25 programs/teams on average.

Expect to see 5ish top 25 type teams on your schedule every single year. If you get less, you are lucky. If you get 7 top 35 then you would be unlucky.

The only programs that aren't top 40 programs in the SEC are Vandy, Kentucky and MSU. If you make a list of the best programs in cfb then you'd end up with half the top 10 being SEC teams and nearly half of the top 30.

It won't get much easier year in and out.

We just added UT/OU to UF, LSU, Bama, Georgia, AU and Tenn.

It's a murderous conference.

We’ll have an actual real OC now. Not an analyst or TE coach but a real IC who has had great success with 2 different QBs.

We got lots of true freshman playing time on the line this year. No better way to learn. We’ll get some oline out of portal and those same freshmen will be great depth. Plus have another class coming in.

New OC will have his work cut out but it won’t be a bandaid approach he has real experience.

My mistake, you shouldn’t have been. I hear you lost a 5* OT commit today, any truth to that?

If they weren’t, you couldn’t cry about how “historically tough” OU’s schedule was this year…….

Correction. The SEC added one good program and one mediocre program.
