Considering that premier matchups are often scheduled a decade (or even far longer) in advance, replacing all these SEC matchups that are likely to be cancelled with other big-name opponents is going to be a chore...on both sides.

2023 Georgia (appears already cancelled)
2024 @ Tennessee

2025 Michigan
2026 @ Michigan
2027 LSU
2028 @ LSU

2029 Nebraska
2030 @ Nebraska
2031 @ Georgia
2032 Alabama
2033 @ Alabama

2035 @ Clemson
2036 Clemson

A season without a big OOC game sucks.

And we probably need to find another quality opponent to add for the upcoming Nebraska years. It's a longshot that they'll be back.

I guess, but the conference will provide enough strength of schedule to make the playoffs, which are expanding, and therefore easier to make. Tough OOC regular season games might soon be a memory because there is no good reason to schedule them anymore.

Bedlam is your answer.

9 SEC games + Bedlam
and 1 cream puff
and 1 good/great game rotating home and away opposite Bedlam

All good points, and I think the newness of the SEC schedule will make up for a lot of the variety that we look forward to in the OOC schedule, for several years at least.

The downside to that plan..

6 homes games (4 SEC + CP + OSU/OOC)
1 Neutral
5 Away (4 SEC + OSU/OOC)

You may play 2 cream puffs in order to get that 7th home game every other year

If the teams aren't on your conference schedule then they would not count against your conference record.

Still a way to honor commitments to schedule in that way.

When that game was first scheduled my son was about to be born. I decided then that would be his first game since he would be of age to get to enjoy it. I sure hope it doesn't get canceled.

That does make it tricky.

I was just looking at Texas' future schedules, and you guys have four to replace as well with home-and-away matchups with Georgia and Florida.

I guess it looks likely that we'll still be in the Big 12 next year for your trip to Bama.

Don’t want bedlam to continue. No reason for it to do so. Let them sink on their own without us playing them and filling up Rustoleum Stadium for them.

Thats pretty high and mighty considering OU may be needing all the extra wins they can get when they join the league.

Damn. That sounds like Texas and Texas A&M level of pettiness.

Same here. That's pretty great pre-parenting!

The last series between UT and OU was amazing. Tennessee fans were fantastic home and away.

Agree

Nothing against bedlam but would rather play teams from the ACC, Big10 and Pac12 that we never play. We will be in a new conference so why play anyone from the old conference.

Yes, still a possibility. Seems kind if unlikely to me, but maybe a couple of them will stick.

I'm undecided on Bedlam, not that I get a vote. They're certainly a respectable program these days. Not sure I'd want to burn an OOC on the same team every year. We used to do it with Texas, of course, but that's a much bigger rivalry, and there were 4 OOC games back then.

Yeah... I didn't consider out of conference SEC games y'all had already scheduled prior to the decision to join.

That probably is going to be a pain in the arse. It's gonna be one of those things where no matter what you do, someone is going to be unhappy about it.

Sign FSU to home and home. You always win, but it is entertaining and fills the stadium. Doak Campbell was rocking that night yall came to town.

LSU and Oklahoma have been scheduled/cancelled/re-sceduled/postponed/re-scheduled since the early 2000s. It was never actually going to be a non-conference home and home. Just a tease.

Why cancel uga in 2023. Just move it to a neutral site if possible.
