UF is a solid team OU played like crap and had 15 hits against their ace. If OU plays clean ball I think we sweep. IF UF can win a game it will be game 2 vs Deal.

SEC has to let Oklahoma win at something, they have been so pathetic since expansion
You realize expansion has only been here for 1 season. And we have the same amount of national championships in football as you and Texas combined. So, buzz off, wannabe.

Congrat's on winning the SEC championship! Gasso has done an amazing job!
I know we want to try and host a super, but I would prefer to shut Rothrock down and see if she can get back to 100% before the NCAA tournament.

The only good thing to ever come out of Oklahoma is Billy Sim's BBQ loaded potato salad

Our pitching depth got exposed again. Patty has been able to win titles in a similar situation often but I do fear this year it catches up to them. Good win by Florida.
Sam Landry is our one and only ace. But when you pitch her too often and then face that same team in playoffs - it might allow them to figure her out. Not having better options really does put some pressure on OU.
I’m still amazed how Patty has team playing great at end of year. Such a young team. But she’ll need some pitchers next year. I’m curious how far Sam can take us.

Very much so. Like many, I assumed Florida and Texas would run away from the pack this year. Way too much returning talent.
The smart bet before the season was that the youth of the team would keep OU from another championship. The freshmen have come so much farther along over the course of the season than I could have imagined.
It's actually a couple of upperclassmen producing the least on offense, though the offense is plenty good enough to win it all.
Defensively, the younger girls seem to get jittery in big games and become a little more prone to errors. Understandable. They'll get used to the environments and the pressure by this time next year.
Pitching is almost always a concern for every team. Landry has been far better than expected, though certainly not perfect. It's the extreme inconsistency with the other pitchers that's the big weakness of the team. Nicole May as a solid #2 for her entire career was more valuable than a lot of fans gave her credit for. We sorely miss her now.
I assume every team has had to deal with the tiny strike zones this year. And inconsistent zones are always a universal complaint. If it's a problem at the MLB level, you can guarantee it's downright dreadful in D1 softball.
I visit opposing fan forums during games, and of course their bitching about the plate ump is much the same as ours, much like how the other team is always holding in football
I still think OU has as good a chance as anyone, but they shouldn't be the heavy favorites going into the NCAA tournament like the last four years. There are at least 7 teams with a pretty much equal chance of winning it all this year, or perhaps even 8 or 9. Should be fun.
Sorry for the mini novel.
