OU will be fine, they won't win as much as they have in the Big XII, but they will compete.
I think TU probably struggles a bit more in football, but they'll raise the already sky-high baseball profile of the conference, which is all that really matters, anyway.

No doubt that OU will have one of their better teams next year - they should continue to defend their home field pretty well as they've done in the past.
The big problem for OU will be the road games - they haven't been terribly consistent over the past 10-15 years in a much weaker conference, so what makes you think they'll excel on the road against the LSU, Bama, GA, FL, Auburn, aTm's of the SEC?? In fact, I don't see them going without a blemish against some of the lesser teams each year (you know, the S.Carolina's, Ole Misses, Miss State's of the world). Those teams stand toe-to-toe with Iowa State, KState, and OK State. And, these are the toughest opponents each year in the Big 12 outside of the Horns.

And yet, what does your "MIGHTY AGGIES" have to show after all those recruiting wins over Oklahoma? Congrats, you still have nothing. The only reason you had recruits was because you were the only SEC school in Texas. If you don't think you'll experience a slide starting today moving forward, you're either lying or kidding yourself. You guys are no different than Oklahoma State. You'll always be the little brother to the longhorns and that's sad after the amounts of money that's been dumped into your program.

This is starting to get pathetic man.
Go spill your drivel to some Kansas State fans.

It’s understandable..but both you and TU don’t truly realize what you’re getting into. It’s ok..you’ll learn soon enough. When you do..we can all be brethren.

They'll be fine. All this Texas/Texas A&M hatred is kinda fun to watch.
Posted on 8/5/21 at 3:27 pm to BamaWins15
Oklahoma is immediately the 2nd best team in the conference, regardless of recent playoff games
Posted on 8/5/21 at 3:27 pm to AustinAggie
No. What's sad is a Texas A&M Aggie feeling ballsy enough to involve herself in a football conversation.

A&M is on a 4 game losing streak to Kansas State.

Last time we played OU we annihilated you 41-13. No one is scared of OU. Not even people in Kansas or Iowa.
If A&M is so shitty why are you being out recruited by us and finishing ranked lower?
You think you’re going to be able to beat teams like LSU and Alabama with the bitch arse attitude y’all have?
Please walk into Death Valley with the same arrogance you post with.

Let's be honest, OU's defense has been terrible every time they made it to the playoffs. That is beginning to change. It will all come down to how they recruit on the defensive side. That is what this entire move for OU and Texas was about besides the money, keeping up in recruiting. I think OU will consistently finish in the top 4 of the league. The first year will be a challenge if it's next year. OU will moe than likely be breaking in a new QB.

So you respond to me saying all you have is history with more history?
The following are facts:
A&M has out recruited OU 3 years straight.
A&M finished ranked higher than OU.
OU lost to Kansas State and Iowa State
And yet you bring up history to prove YOUR point| LOL!

I would think most of our fans understand. We definitely won't be winning as many conference championships as we do now but, it will mean more. That is why I am excited about the move. Winning the conference championship every year is nice and all but it doesn't mean shite unless we win a national title occasionally. This will put us in a better position.

Ouch! Solid burn, but wait... Didn't I already credit you above with the Johnny Football Cotton bowl win? So now you're just recycling information I've already posted. You got nothing else to add to the pile? And again congrats on your recruiting but what is it giving you? If you'd recruited a quarterback last year you might have had something to talk about today. Instead you've still got nothing. You're just really sensitive to the fact that you're now no longer a middle of the road SEC squad. Now that your big brother Tex and old friend OU is back in the mix, A&M can resume its former biotch role toward the bottom of the pack. Assume the position. Yeah it's familiar for you.

As stated before we have a defense now for the first time in about 10 years!

This seems to be the standard post these days...
Elitist SEC troll posts OU bait basically disrespecting OU too much...
Dumbass OU fan takes bait and overstates OU's position...
result: Brazilian circle jerk of posts back and forth.
The truth is that OU is and will consistently be top tier in the SEC, they won't be Bama, but they will equal the next group of 2-3 schools in consistency until Bama comes down to earth and then they will be one of a group of 4-5 SEC teams that regularly compete for the championship. How well they do will depend on when they come over. They happen to be loaded this year, and have an experienced Heisman calibur QB (in a year where the SEC does not have a lot of QB starpower returning) and they would transition well. Next year Rattler likely goes pro, so entering into the SEC with an unproven QB would likely turn into 3-4 losses even if the new guy is an eventual superstar (which many think he is).
In the end, the SEC is amazingly strong top to bottom, and OU bolsters that. Texas has the potential, depending on whether you buy into Sark, to make that even deeper, OR do their normal dysfunctional thing.
This year if they were in:
Alabama
LSU/Georgia/OU
A&M
Florida

you make some good and reasonable points, but you give LSU more credit than they deserve. They won't be a contender this year
