OU is going to be in the upper tier in the SEC. Them and UT have been recruiting like SEC programs. I’ve said this many times. The teams that this move affects the most are the middle of the pack programs mostly located in the west. It bumps them down a tier.
If I’m Arkansas Ole Miss State Kentucky Tennessee and A&M, I hate this. It really just helps the Programs like UGA Bama LSU Auburn and Florida. Gives them a schedule boost and helps them in recruiting.

Of course we have work to do Riley left a rag tag team with little D and built for O (but then drug the top O to usc with him). But I will point out both aTm and Mizzou did better in SEC their first few years than they did in B12.
SEC teams who get us on schedule will be getting a blue blood program andl likely dropping an easier game with a few exceptions. It works both ways, teams who add us lose one of their current SEC games and not all drops will be Georgia or Bama.
I can tell you from recruiting perspective we did great on 23 class, top 4. And BV is rebuilding the entire program. Another note, he is doing it with coaches who came from SEC schools plus Clemson. All of them know what lies ahead. And all of them stayed as well.
Go ahead and mock us but the OU team that enters in 2024 will not be the O only Riley teams nor the transition team from this past season. We likely will need until 25 to be fully loaded but we’ll be more ready in 24 than what most posters here think.
I look forward to it and think most SEC fans will enjoy when we visit their home stadiums as well. I think we add value to the SEC and likewise our fans will embrace and enjoy visiting fans just as much. There is nothing to not like.
And not jist football. Many other sports will be enhanced with the additions. Overall it will make the SEC the place to be for a majority of sports not just football.
Can’t wait!

There’s no denying that Ou and Texas definitely add value to the conference. It’s a better expansion than 92 and 12 for sure.
Y’all are in for a culture shock when you visit LSU. I’ve been told by many fans of all regions that there ain’t no place like Baton Rouge on a Saturday in the fall. People exaggerate the hostility of LSU fans. If visitors show up with an arrogant attitude then they’ll be treated as such but if sooner fans show up with an attitude of curiosity on the culture and Gameday experience, 99% of the
LSU fans will welcome you in to join the party.
Anyone who speaks badly of their Gameday experience at LSU definitely showed up with the wrong type of attitude. Been to many games in Norman and it’s night and day compared to BR. Think of brick town compared to the French quarter. Both are fun but they are different

Related notes. OU has never played at your home stadium. We did play you in Sugar Bowl in 2004 and to be honest 90% of OU fans that I talked to who attended said it was a horrible fan experience. I couldn’t attend unfortunately. My guess is because of location and being a title game it was more non-typical LSU fans who attended? Fans were spit on, drinks thrown/poured and families with kids were cussed at non stop.
I mention this because I think it will be completely different attending a home game in BR vs NO. And some OU fans might be leery based on their 2004 experience. I hope when we visit it goes well and will show by example the Sugar Bowl was an outlier. The charm of going to new venues is to experience their cultures and mingle with their fans in good fun.
Anyways, I think the new venues will be exciting to OU fans but wanted to mention the 2004 experience since we have never played at BR before. Some fans might assume it will be same experience but my guess is it was just an outlier and not the typical LSU fan.

As someone who attended LSU (more of a basketball school at the time, tbh) but more importantly, lived in BR for several years and got to know the folks there: Southern LA is like a whole different country than back home in central OK. The people IMO were just more chill, more characters, and just cool to be around.
That said, I heard all the horror stories about the 2004 Sugar Bowl and although some of that shite was probably embellished or copied (surely all old ladies in attendance didn't get spit upon, right?) but my first thought was well yeah, these people like to shite talk and can sense someone with a stick up their arse from 10 miles away. Plus it's in NO... and NO LSU fans can be a different breed from the normal LSU home crowd. So I think there's some truth to your post, OU Guy.

I think the Tiger fan you're responding to is talking more about the whole game day experience on campus. The Sugar Bowl is great and all, but the game day experience is a bit more edgy being not on a campus, downtown, and in New Orleans. On campus the tailgating scene is second to none at LSU.
Game days on LSU's campus will find you wandering around to various tailgates, and being fed by Tiger fans. UNLESS you're an a-hole. Then you will get no end of grief - and Louisianans know about grief and how to dish it out.

I was hoping it was pushed back another 5 years

Oh absolutely the fans you interact with at a championship game in Nola will be much different than on campus. I just find it real hard to believe that the OU fans were just innocent bystanders and they didn’t instigate it.
You’ve gotta remember it being in Nola they were out numbered at least 4-1. So if 1 sooner fan starts shite, there will be 4 tiger fans yelling at them. All in all, I still think LSU fans as a whole are a different breed. They’ve been known to drink places out of beer when visiting. Lambeau for example.

most here already know about the shitty town and fans at LSUs stadium. Anyone thinking LSU fans are nice or are going to be nice are fooling themselves. Dont worry we dont forget....

I wouldn’t forget the beat downs LSU laid on OU either prick.

Several members of the Oklahoma media had some of the same complaints, particularly former OU QB, Dean Blevins of KWTV. He sounded downright angry discussing his horrible experience on the radio.

Never not been nice to me, pretty darn good
Course I am from the South, have relatives in the state, appreciate good cajun and creole cooking. Does not hurt I travel with good bourbon.

Honestly, just looking forward to the new blood and new matchups. As a fan of tradition, it's cool that some old rivalries are restored, but just don't want that at the expense of losing existing rivalries.
Hoping for the 3 permanent matchups and 6 rotating game model. Either way, it's always fun to root against Bama and Texas.

Of course it will be fun with new blood. I guess rookie is the 2024 term. This bull that it’s bad for certain teams is weak minded. Any teams used to playing top 5 ranked teams every year have no fear of ou or tx. Welcome to the sec boys.

Saw this graphic. I think it's how the 3-6-6 scheduling will likely look. It's more realistic than others I've seen.

Anything you see OU playing OSU is wrong. The butthurt is real with the pokes. Unless FOX makes them, Bedlam is dead for decades.

Texas just locked up 40% of their schedule from the SWC era.
