Alabama has put up way more 50 point games this season than OU, facing much tougher defenses. You're not an intelligent person.

Yes, and they also included games against several top 25 teams. And if you want to go down this rabbit hole, Oklahoma racked up their offensive numbers playing against powerhouse defenses like FAU, Army, Kansas, UCLA, and the rest of the Big 12.

I never claimed otherwise. Not a 'tit for tat' thing , although that a discussible topic...More just the wild card element that Kyler brings.

The UGA defense OU faced just last season was better than this Bama defense

No one ever said Kyler wasn't a good player. The main argument is Oklahoma's defense is complete garbage, and Alabama has one of the better offenses in the country with an elite defense to go with it.

Was it? The UGA defense last year gave up 16.4 ppg. Alabama, this season, has given up 14.8 ppg. You also have to take into account that Alabama was playing backups most of the second half in almost every game this season.

Incorrect

The UGA defense pre-playoffs last year gave up 13.2 points per game.

Bama currently pre-playoffs is giving up 14.8 ppg

Or in other words defenses that compare to Oklahoma's

Total Defense

108th Oklahoma

49th Arkansas State
50th Tennessee
96th Louisiana
122nd Loiusville

Nevermind 3 are better than Oklahomas

I was going to address that in part two or three :D, but I'll lay it out here...no argument here about OU's poor defense. What 'we' have to hang our hat on ,so to speak, is that the team has been through the trenches in games this year in which the poor defense has forced the offense to 'overachieve' to compensate. They know how to do this. It usually works. It didn't quite work against Georgia last year. The difference may be a wildcard element of some sorts....

Your defense is so bad that you made bad offenses look good. I cannot imagine what an elite offense will look like against it.

You haven't faced a defense even close to Alabama's, and you haven't faced an offense close to Alabama's. Alabama hasn't faced an offense close to Oklahoma's...

They've faced 12 defenses better than OU's.

That's all the analysis you need.

Really good, not really great
It is, however, truly great when being compared to the defenses Oklahoma has faced.

Plus with a healthy Tua, Alabama's offense is probably every bit as good as Oklahoma's.

The Okies are a one man band too. If Kyler gets a hangnail they get very ordinary, very fast.

Tua goes down? We have a hell of a good plan B and a lot to go with him.

I might've been inclined to agree with your first statement , but the Citadel, Arksansas State, Louisville, Tennessee games sort of level off that anylsis off to a near push (padded their defensive yearly stats), versus the better teams they play. The Georgia game as well.

West Virginia and OSU (although they had a very schizophrenic season) can be prolific on offense. So while Alabama may have a better offense than them, the margin is not overly drastic.

He has playmakers to be sure, but yea, all the cards are off the table if he goes down.

But Oklahoma's defense, by every metric, is nearly identical to Arkansas and Tennessee. So while our performance against elite defenses is a talking point vs Clemson or Georgia, it isnt against Oklahoma.

We have tangible examples of Alabama against an OU level defense. We have tangible examples of OU vs a slightly less than Alabama offense. They both tell the same story.

The matchup without any real expectation is OU offense vs Alabama defense, as neither has faced a group that compares to the other.
