Yes, bama deserves some credit for constantly facing teams off of by weeks.
However, that is more than offset by bama playing a weaker SEC schedule than most for decades.
And of course teams schedule bye weeks before bama because bama has been the top team in the SEC on average for a while now. IMO, teams should schedule a bye after bama though except for LSU. Most of those teams don't have a very good shot of beating bama and it just turns into two losses after they get so hyped up then beat up by bama.

Pretty solid argument all the way around. I will say its the sec west so its a tough schedule no matter what. Tenn being down the last decade has hurt us though in terms of perception of schedule but thats outside of our control. If Tenn not been down i dont think it would be an issue.

Because it helps to have a week off. Now imagine that instead of just Alabama, everyone else took the week off before playing LSU. Imagine it happening 27 times over the last few years.
You people would bitch to high heaven if the shoe was on the other foot. You bitch about everything else already.

Whens bamas bye week? Oh right..

How is that relevant to the fact that Bama has faced nearly 3x as many bye week rested teams as the next closest SEC team?
Has LSU faced 27 bye week rested teams?
Has LSU faced 27 bye week rested teams?

Bama has:
- Offseason before Wisconsin
- Middle Tennessee before Ole Miss
- ULM before Georgia
- Arkansas before A&M
- Bye before LSU
- FCS before Auburn
Every year is the same. Those are all as good or better than a bye week.

Youur tinfoil hat is on a little too tight.
Given the pathetic Bama SEC schedule the past 5 years you don't have much room to complain.

The bye weeks for Alabama's opponents is just to sort of make the game fair what with Alabama's superior players and coaches.

not using your bye before playing a consistent powerhouse isn't smart.
The goal is to win the game.

It's smart to use your bye before a big game. I just think that when almost the entire conference is doing it before one team, something isn't right.
Alabama shouldn't have to face 3x as many bye rested teams as the next closest team. There is no way to explain that as fair, equitable, or sporting. But whatever, Alabama has dominated in spite of it.

arkansas had a bye after bama not before so I know that is incorrect.

What's not fair. Look at Bama's schedule every single season.

Bye weeks can be helpful for the teams to heal up but I don't think it holds as much of an advantage as most people think. Alot of teams come out looking flat.

Didnt Arkansas beat Auburn and Tenn? Cant really chalk that one up as a bye anymore.

You people eh. Seems your coach is the one whining about the schedule, fans leaving early and of course the HUNH. And now it was one of u people that started this whining thread.
I think we both know why u people schedule your bye where it is.
Saying it seems to be the conundrum.
