I hope I am wrong here, as I think the melt on here would be epic if a death penalty is issued. The fans here deserve it.

Jesus

It’s just college sports, man.

No home game revenue in basketball for 2 years would be really tough to overcome.
Not really.
I've heard that Red Stick's been wanting an indoor skating rink for a while now. Hell, maybe they could get one of those semi-pro hockey teams to come to town.

Home revenue might hurt a little but if they take away the SEC monies each year for, say, two years that will really pinch. Remember, it is for football aw well as basketball so I could see the NCAA thru the IARP taking LSU’s SEC revenues.

This incident stems from Wade’s tenure at VCU and from I understood, Wade was transparent about it. But LSU gets the Level 1 on it.

One of the other Level 1 violations LSU got hit with was over Trendon Watford while Wade and Bill Armstrong were in Birmingham scouting Watford. Bill Armstrong is a Birmingham native and has a long relationship with Watford and his family. Watford’s family saw Wade and Armstrong eating at a Bham restaurant after the game and went over to talk to Armstrong. Some Bama fan took a picture and sent it to the SEC office and The NCAA. Level 1 violation over a long standing personal relationship. It’s not remotely worthy of a Level 1.

LSU gave into the media campaign and the NCAA pressure. And when LSU wasn’t complying with the NCAA demands and goal and that was getting rid of Wade in 2018-2019, the NCAA used a small incident to continue investigation into LSU football which was essentially closed per SI and threatened football, their $125 million cash cow. LSU made Wade and LSU basketball the sacrificial lamb to protect football. And Cal, and all the other blue bloods continue to do the same crap while the NcAA and their media goons, Forde and Wolken turn a blind eye. I mean North Carolina created courses and course credit for classes that didn’t exist. and UNC didn’t cooperate at all. Bill Self and KU received what? 5 level 1 violations and KU rolls on. If anyone thinks Zion’s fam didn’t get paid huge bank to attend Duke is delusional. This is the blue bloods operating under a different of rules and standards.

No one is doubting Wade was reckless and didn’t create plausible deniability. But the shenanigans live on. Nothing changes. Make out someone the villain because he was beating them at their own game and run interference for the elites. That’s this story summed up. If anyone thinks college basketball has always been above board, they never been involved with AAU which where much of the player buying originates.

The NCAA would have to levy similar penalties for other programs who committed L1 violations. This won’t ever happen. If it does, LSU will appeal and inevitably through litigation. I think it’s open season to pile on LSU. Don’t throw stones at glass houses. Your team’s program is doing the same crap.

And the football stuff wasn’t that big of a deal. LSU self reported and self sanctioned. And the perp who wasn’t affiliated with LSU is paying restitution. The NCAA used a small incident to keep the case open for football so they can threaten football for LSU to finally cave and fire Wade.

LSU was a toxic mess under Aleva and Dr F King which is why LSU cleaned house and brought in Woodward and Dr Tate. Some of the crap that took placed embarrassed me as a LSU alum. Hell recently Univ of Alabama officials were busted during a prostitution sting. SW and Tate were tasked with cleaning up the mess and they are. It’s also worth noting Woodward is extremely close to Emmert. Woodard’ step-son is married to Emmert’s daughter.

LSU will appeal

There is no appeal process with the IARP. Whatever the rule is final.

You are dumb

They know about this because Wade had screen shots of the text messages on his phone when he handed it over to the NCAA. They have no evidence that he actually paid the girl any money at all. But run with your narrative fake lawyer.

Everybody that downvoted my comment on page 1, show me on the doll where the bad man from LSU fricked your mother, wife, and daughter.

Wrong. The football stuff, and especially sweeping sexual assault under the rug for years, is a huge deal. The NCAA might not have the authority to sanction LSU for that, but it doesn't all happen in a vacuum, and they can come down hard on all the rest, including lack of institutional control.

Within a year the NCAA sanctioned Auburn with a loss of a couple of tv games for coaches paying players, and sanctioned Alabama with a loss of games won on the field, among other sanctions, because Antonio Langham signed a napkin for an agent while partying after the national championship victory vs Miami.

Pretty sure the screenshots coupled with testimony from said “girl” is enough. You don’t have to show an actual exchange of money to prove it. If that was the case, we wouldn’t lock up a lot of those that commit fraud.

You’ve been lawyered. Thanks for playing.

You should have remained at “didn’t realize,” because I didn’t bump my own thread. Just look above to see some responses and see when they occurred.

Some of you “tiger” fans are really showing your intelligence ITT.

If they didn't give Baylor the death penalty for what happened under Dave Bliss they won't give LSU the death penalty.

Wade wasn't transparent about shite and because of his unwillingness to cooperate with the investigation he racked up another Level I infraction. He slow played the entire investigation for well over a year so that he could continue to pull a salary from LSU.
