Only two conferences to win back to back titles without the same team doing it.

Southwest Conference:
1938 - TCU
1939 - Texas A&M
Southeastern Conference:
1957 - Auburn
1958 - LSU
1979 - Alabama
1980 - Georgia
2006 - Florida
2007 - LSU
2008 - Florida
2009 - Alabama
2010 - Auburn
2011 - Alabama
Every time another conference won back to back titles, it was the same team repeating.

Find another conference that did it. Only active conference left that has is the SEC.

It has everything to do with the "ACC is the best conference" garbage, or the Big Ten for that matter.
In over 100 years of college football, neither the ACC nor the Big Ten has ever had two or more different schools win the national title in consecutive years, nor has any other conference since the Big 8 in 1994 and 1995 had even a single school win back to back titles.

11-0 schools don't share titles with 8-3 schools, no matter how much USC whines about it.
wildthangthealter strikes again.

Wrong. A simple Google search shows it has happened multiple times in the SEC and a shitload in the Ivy league.

TAMU should have played the Vols instead of the Green Wave
Vols, Green Wave, and Bumbles had a 3 way share of the SEC title as all went undefeated in conference that year.

39 was a banner year for A&M the national title and the take down of poland

Not that I agree with "ACC is the best conference" but what does having the best conference this past year have to do with a historic run by the SEC 5-10 years ago.

Yes it is. In 2012, Alabama won another one. That means the SEC won 7 straight National Titles, and it was done by 4 different teams. Mind boggling. Alas, those days are gone.
