Your whole argument was what he had before though. Leach has turned multiple programs around. Pittman has one 8-4 season in total on his resume.

Turning around a team in the big 12 or pac12 is great. Pitt took over a team that had zero conference wins in 2 years and had lost rent-a-wins and got 9&4 in year 2. Different level.

You can’t even rank Kelly and Napier yet. The SEC (especially the west) chews up and spits out coaches. Either could win a national championship or end up being a flop.
IMO Stoops is #3. He’s done the most with the least.
Jimbo has probably done the least (average to above average) with the most talent, but he’s also accomplished more than #3-#14 so I would probably leave him where he is.

Brian Kelly isn't strapping up and playing against Saban, Kirby, etc.
It's the players - this is why he came to LSU. the talent.

True. The thing about Leach is he's inconsistent. He'll win a few he shouldn't but always loses some that should be easy wins. He's Houston Nutt who passes too much instead of runs.

Two last year (NC State and Kentucky). But the debate isn't just at MSU. What Leach did at WSU alone is more impressive than Pittman winning 8 games against a bunch of unranked SEC and cupcake teams.
