I get it, you watched the Alabama game, saw him make a few solid tackles, and assumed he would be good. He isn't. He never picked up his man all year, and he bit hard on at least 3-4 plays over the middle when he was the only man back there.
He was one of the only reasons we were in it against TAMU this year.
He had a handful of fumble recoveries, some sacks, and a pair of interceptions this year. He made some great plays beyond the "oh he hit a guy really hard against Alabama."
He's not all-SEC material, but he's not nearly as bad as you seem to believe he is.

My brother watched Prewitt a lot in high school and is surprised as hell that he is doing as well as he is

I'll admit that the Ole Miss D improved as the year went on, but always looked small across the front. If that improves and you upgrade the DBs, then yeah, it could be better.

Amazing and resilient. practical, not so much but keep repeating it.

No. BUT , Freeze did a MASSIVE turn- around. That 2011 ole miss team was one of the worst SEC teams since 92 and he had y'all playing well this year. Almost beat LSU and A&M.

Lets just see what happens. I hate predictions, especially when it comes to OM football!

I thought Prewitt looked good early on in the season. Didn't notice him as much later on. Not sure if he changed positions, or if Nkemdiche took over, or if I just didn't notice him as much. I wasn't watching OM that closely.
Regarding the OP, he's right. OM should be able to improve on their #67 scoring defense (#11 in the SEC) next year.

Prewitt wasn't the weakest link in the secondary. Charles Sawyer is by far the glaring one back there to me. He is turrrible. I know y'all love him and his hair but he isn't SEC caliber. If you can find somebody to keep him on the sidelines next year, that will make the D that much better. CJ is becoming what we all thought he was gonna be. Gross is gonna beef up and be better. Same with Ward. If ya add little Robert and get Denzel some more help at lb, the D will definitely be tough. Won't be a big D but quick at all positions. The secondary was young w Elston, Golson, and Prewitt Replace Sawyer and add a year experience to the other guys, you won't be in the bottom half of the SEC next year but in the upper middle of the league. And that ain't a knock. That small Dline dominated our fatass offensive line and I was impressed.
