HOTTY AND TODDY
Nothing says Ole Miss like these two words… “Hotty Toddy.” They embrace the culture at Ole Miss like nothing else. Southern charm, hospitality, pride, tradition… “Hotty Toddy” means all of that and more. Among the Ole Miss family, these words have become a familiar greeting, a way of connecting with others through a shared love of Ole Miss. University historians have searched for the origins of these words and the familiar cheer for years to no avail, but they are as much a part of Ole Miss as the Grove or the Lyceum. This mascot concept would bring those words, and the emotions connected to those words, alive in a pair of lovable characters. The pair may be animals or original “muppet-like” characters, but completely unique to Ole Miss. They can get as spirited and excited as any Rebel fan, and they love to pump up the crowd. And once we win the game, they will gladly be gracious hosts, inviting the other team to come back for more!

Why not a mascot replicating someone/thing that can actually be seen on the campus? In that case, the mascot should be a pimply-faced teen wearing a wrinkled shirt with the sleeves rolled up, a gaudy necktie and khaki pants. For additional authenticity, the mascot should reek of cheap cologne & White Zinfadel.

Just wait until the thought police find out that "the Fightin' Tigers" fought on the side of the Confederacy. We'll be next.

They should definitely go with the Blues Singer. I think an old black man in dark sunglasses singing about oppression would really strike a chord with their fanbase, and get their student body excited about their team.

I hope Ole Miss can settle this issue soon or trash the idea completely.

I was thinking the exact samething Shank!
Ole Piss says a cheer and doesn't even know what it means! When I went to the LSU/Ole Piss game in November, they called me and my buddy "CORNDOGS". I asked them why yall call LSU fans that and they couldn't answer the question, just kept calling us that.
