Leaking is an unnamed source you mental midget. He told the journalist on the record for public dissemination! Basically he and Lane are saying he ain’t going anywhere. I mean you think his daughter who sophomore at Ole Miss is going want to move? How about his son who moved from California and is a Jr playing at Oxford HS? His brother and SIL who are building a house are going to move? Better yet his ex-wife just moved from California? Is Lane going to have his parents dug up and moved to Florida also?

Is that a leak or is that him saying with crazy season starting I am going to lock up our coach?

No, "basically" he is putting out a non-story as there is a ton of talk (and pressure) about Lane leaving. Lane has nothing to do with this story.

If this was anything more than a PR stunt, we would be getting this story AFTER the extension was signed, like every other coaching extension.

Sure thing Mr Know It All. This wasn’t a “leak” this was a full fledge I am out in front of this BS. Lane ain’t going to your back arse concrete stripe mall in the middle of a swamp. Y’all have been so poorly run administratively and have in your business boosters no good coach in their right mind will touch that shitty job. Take your G5 coach or Franklin and get used to your ceiling being 8 maybe if you’re lucky 9 wins.

I’m pretty sure Lane has realized there are zero expectations at Ole Miss. He doesn’t ever have to win.

I don’t say this to troll or trash talk or anything like that, but this looks like an AD applying public pressure to his coach to renew his contract. It could also be him preparing to cover his arse. Generally speaking it is bad news for the AD to be saying this at least. For fans, it could just be Kiffin shaking him down for more money, which is pretty neutral to you. But I wouldn’t read it as a good sign at least.

If I were Kiffin, even if I’m staying I would let it drag out. Depending on the results of some games this could be the biggest coaching carousel of all time. He’s about to get a lot more money from someone.
