The more that comes out about this, the dumber the people raging at Ole Miss look.

Tech’s coach saying they would travel back to Oxford is complete horseshite too. He knows that they wouldn’t actually travel to play 3 innings and Ole Miss isn’t going to move another mid week game in order to play just 3 innings. So he just put that bullshite offer out because he can now say “see?? They’re scared!!”

The video of the LaTech coach is embarrassing as hell. It’s like watching a child cry because he can’t get Chick-fil-A on a Sunday.

Start at 1 and the game gets completed. It’s not that complicated. At least for most people.

Captain hindsight over here.

They had 6 innings to score more runs. It’s not that complicated. At least for most people.

You’re also assuming all of the people involved in game day operations are there early in the morning to start a game at 1.

Not a single SEC team would agree to resuming a midweek game at 1 AM with three more innings remaining. However, if I were Bianco, I’d have offered the Tech coach to suspend the game indefinitely and also offer to resume the game later this season. La Tech plays at Southern Miss on 04/18. I’d have offered to play them 04/19 and if they said no tell them “sorry, we tried.”

That said, it is lame they get a win out of a game they were losing regardless of the rule. Tech fans and players have every right to be annoyed by how that played out.

The closest analogy would be OT in college football.

Imagine if a game ended in a tie, but after one team kicked a FG in the first OT period, lightning delayed the game, then rain and lightning prevented the rest of the game from being played.

Only one team got to play offense for the OT period so they had a lead. Does the team that didn’t get to get their offensive shot in OT just lose?

I’m sure you be fine if state football lost a game like that
