Trailing top of 7th 5-4 to LaTech. Rain came, Ole Miss didn’t tarp the field and took the rainout with score reverting to bottom of 6th 4-3 Ole Miss.
Ole Miss is scared

So there’s a rule that prevents them from putting the tarp on the field to preserve the playing conditions?

The rule is that both teams get the same amount of innings. Do you think that’s bad?

Do you think not putting the tarp on the field so that the game would be called due to unsafe field conditions is bad?

If the field would have had the tarp on it, Ole Miss could have continued to play after the rain passed. Then Ole Miss refused to play La Tech tomorrow when La Tech was willing to travel back for 3 innings. Ole Miss got scared and took advantage of the situation so they wouldn’t lose. I don’t know what’s worse, Ole Miss refusing to continue the game against La Tech, or aTm forfeiting bowl game basically, or Missouri refusing to play Kansas. Ole Miss you are a pussy!!

You was scared of La Tech. Champs are supposed to not be scared of a conference USA school.

Do you think intentional walks are bad? Bunts? Sac flies? Lame

That’s part of the game. But refusing to bring the tarp out when the other coach is pushing for it so you wouldn’t lose is a joke. It’s classes, and bush league. I would have never thought a defending national champion would be scared to continue a game against a team from Conference USA!

Anyone there or watching have some insight on how bad the lightning was? Could see them not sending the field crew out of it was bad. Not wanting to play tomorrow doesn’t seem that big of a slight especially with Maryland coming Friday. Dont see much of an excuse for not starting the game earlier if they knew the storm was coming.
