'm sorry you were one of those nerdy runts always following us around as we unmercifully made fun of you.

Therapy might help, but I doubt it bc your pansy arse nerdiness seems to only have gotten worse with time.

Nerds the ones making the money while you live in rural New Ellenton SC in a trailer park with the jock guy you married. lol

can you explain what the purpose of cheerleaders are? why should they get scholarships for it. lol

personally i would rather see those scholarships go to kids and parents who have financial need, not go to someone to prance around on sidelines at a game and fake smile even when the team is getting blown out. lol

anyway, I let you bait me into your constant dumb tater vs coot war. lol moving on :)

LSU may be the oldest existing public university in Louisiana, but it was not the first. The Medical College of Louisiana was founded in 1834 as a public medical school. The legislature changed its name to the University of Louisiana in 1847 and added the law school. In 1851, it established its first academic department.

Just throwing this out there.

Yeah, well, Bama is full of shite on this one. Athens State opened as a women's college in 1822.

Opened as Athens State Academy. It doesn't seem to be a public college until 1842. When the Methodist Church took it over.

UA was charted in 1820. But didn't open until 1831.

Spring Hill is the oldest public college in Alabama. Opened in 1830.

I graduated from high school at the age of 15 and had my BSN by the age of 19. My home is made of brick and is situated on 6 acres in the middle of South Carolina's horse country. My garage is probably bigger than your mommy's coveted basement.

Furthermore, I am single and divorced the clemtard I made the mistake of marrying. The only good thing to come out of that marriage were 3 beautiful children, one of whom passed away at 7 months old.

Cheerleaders are exactly what the name implies, dumbfrick. In addition to leading the crowds in cheers, we make numerous public appearances on behalf of the University.

And do your research before blatantly exposing your ignorance. Cheerleading scholarships do, and have for quite some time, existed. Academics plays a huge part in being offered one, not just cheerleading skills.

How do you know those that receive these scholarships aren't financially in need of assistance? YOU DON'T. If you consider gymnastics a sport yet make light of what cheerleaders do, you are a hypocrite of the worst sort. Cheerleading requires gymnastics at the collegiate (and competitive) level.

Your ignorance of all things sports related astounds me to no end.

I believe Rutgers started out private.

I think even today it is still considered partially private. Pittsburgh is the same way.

I believe the College of Charleston is older than Georgia. It was a private college for some time though.

Really? What do you mean "cheerleading requires gymnastics at the collegiate level"? Are the cheerleaders also members of the gymnastics team?

Nope. The oldest public university in Alabama is Athens State.

It has to do with when the school became a public state university.

Similar to North Alabama that also predates UA, Athens State began as private school. They didn't become a public university/college until 1974.

Edit: should have read through before posting. I see it was resolved

that's true, it is the oldest college south of Virginia and I believe it is the 13th oldest in the country.

it was private when it was started but then it was funded by the city of Charleston for awhile. It didn't have good leadership until it became public in 1970.

The enrollment was about 500 in 1970 which is incredible to me because it seems like it would be easy to lure kids to Charleston for college given the city's hype and the beach.

My second oldest daughter is a C of C girl ... y'all are correct about that but it was not public and there was a long gap of downtime in there for awhile.

So it is a public university and older than UGA

UGA has a claim on something but it is more like oldest school to start and remain a public university

I won't lie, knowing FSU was once a girls school the 1851 date looked off. I had no idea UF didn't open until 1906. That seems incredibly late, tbh.
The girls' school opened about a year later I think. The same architect designed the first buildings for UF and FSU, so the two campuses look very similar in places.
