Auburn played Florida, Tennessee, Georgia, Bama every year. Throw in Georgia Tech and FSU. Auburn has paid more the price than any other SEC school

Meanwhile, MSU and LSU played 117 games and it was lost. MSU and Alabama played 108 games and it was lost.

Auburn has played Georgia Tech 92 times. That’s unbelievable considering I think we’ve only met twice since the series ended in 1987.
Another “lost” rival that no one ever mentions is Clemson. Auburn and Clemson have played 51 times, but only 7 times since 1972. So from 1899–1971, Auburn and Clemson met in 61% of all seasons during that 72-season period.
EDIT: just looked this up. From 1899-1971, Auburn was Clemson’s 3rd most played opponent behind only South Carolina and Furman. During that same stretch, Clemson was Auburn’s 5th most commone opponent behind Georgia Tech, Georgia, Miss St, and Florida.
Auburn and Florida State did have a good thing going in the late 1970s through 1990, however we only have faced them 19 times ever.
